Alright....

So you want an xbox 360 and you have a ps3? Go ahead and indulge yourself! The xbox 360 has many unique features and will provide you with a lot of enjoyment. The 360 has netflix and several exclusive titles. Listen to your fellow posters they speak the truth. Titles like Gears of War and Halo, Mass Effect and othes are exclusive to the 360 and provide many hours of entertainment. You should not worry about the Red Rings of Death - many of those issues have been solved, however, you should be prepared to have it happen. Don't be surprised, just be ready.

I have both systems, ps3 and 360. I use them both for different purposes, not just for games. Ps3 = bluray, 360 = netflix. Many games are multiplatform these days and that is something you need to think about and give some weight to in your decision to purchase a 360 when you already have a ps3. Both systems are great, but be sure that your 300-500$ will be put to good use.

Oh... and your fellow posters have already helped you.

I needed an excuse b/c i've been dying to play Gears of War 1/2 and halo 3 since they came out. It finally came at a going out of business sale at Circuit City... 20% off the system (320$ elite) so I folded and finally got it. I have a ps3 and a wii and right now I favor the 360... online is faster than the ps3 and the community for GoW2 and Halo is just as big if not bigger than my other fav FPS CoD4MW on ps3, so I am happy with my purchase.

I bought a 60gig ps3 when it came out. I bought a Wii on ebay for my girl and I to play... then I folded at a going out of business Circuit City and bought a xbox 360 elite for 320$ ... so I have all 3 systems.

My fav system is the Ps3.... but i like the xbox online and more of its exlcusive titles than the ps3's. Wii is good for my girl and I to play, but it is collecting dust most of the time.

I hope more games come out for the ps3 that keep me coming back, Halo 3 and GoW2 keep me coming back... mgs4, deadspace, fallout3... they just don't :( something is wrong with me, they are all awesome games. I wish ps3 had a better, faster, larger online system/community. Replay for me is found in the online play not the single player.

MGS4 ...imo, doesn't require the previous installments to get the gist of whats going on. I didn't play any of the others and still enjoyed and could follow what was going on. The game has many many cut scenes and so if you like deep story lines you'll enjoy that game. Fallout 3 requires no previous knowledge it is really its own game and is just fun... though very long much like any other rpg and requires some dedication to get to the fun stuff. Resistance 2 - while i have not played this, i have played the first installment. Its not that great imo, its another first person shooter - i'd recommend going with Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, a much better game with a wonderful multiplayer online as a bonus and the community for that game is still very strong. I continue to play it. I enjoyed Ninja Gaiden and Deadspace - i'd recommend these titles, with a focus on Deadspace. It is a great 3rd person shooter, it is unique in its presentation and has an interesting story with many awesome weapons and a nice little upgrade system as well as downloadable content to keep you interested. I haven't really got any other recommendations. I did not like Assassins Creed (very repetative) Oblivion was fun, but loses its charm, Ratchet and Clank was a good 1 time play through, Star Wars was a bust, ... and that about covers my collection of games. Call of Duty, Deadspace, MGS4 and Fallout 3 and the upcoming Killzone 2 are my recommendations. All fun, some with online play and they keep you coming back. I don't think the ps3 has too many good quality games yet, most are just ok to me... but those above stand out. Good luck and have fun, grats on the purchase!

I have both systems and honestly I can't tell much of a difference between them. Both systems have games that look great and some that don't. MGS4, COD4, Gears of War, Deadspace, Ninja Gaiden.... some exclusive to one system or another in this list, but they are all i've seen and played - they look nearly identical. I've read many pick at the shadows or at the individual grains in the terrains' texture... i think thats a little overboard. The only reason i'd choose the xbox over the ps3 is the better online service on the xbox.

I've hada 60gig ps3 since the beginning, recently got a xbox360 elite b/c i just couldn't stand it anymore - so i have a question for you... anything i should be checking out for the xbox? As for the ps3, you could take a look at Super Stardust HD - nice arcade game ...basically asteroids (much like the one on xbox's arcade live, just prettier). Not many games are exclusive to the ps3, but Metal Gear Solid 4 is worth a look. I enjoyed that game and I did not play any of the previous installments. I did enjoy Deadspace, but that too is not exclusive. Killzone 2 coming up on the 27th is supposed to be awesome, I think that might be worth checking out. Even though i've had the ps3 for many years now, its hard to tell you what to check out that you couldn't for the xbox - many games are multi-plat as you know. After having bought the 360elite and having that xbox live experience I understand why so many love the xbox. You will like the ps3 though... still some exclusives out there and hopefully Sony can pull up its socks and get those devs to make some new unique and exclusive ps3 games.

You repair your gear at Megaton, at the Crater supply store. If you're like me and you blew up that miserable little town, then you are in ten penny tower and i have no idea where to repair atm. No big deal.

Yes, it was a great game. A little shorter than I had hoped, but right on the money as far as story line and not being overly drawn out. I hope there is a sequal that retains the essence of the storyline and maybe add new weapons, suits, abilities, maybe a few different endings and interactive characters... oh wait, thats Fallout 3.

It really did come out of nowhere and I agree, this game ought to get "game of the year". Wonderful title.

I've beaten the game on medium and there are a few boss fights, 4 or so maybe. The last boss is certainly epic in size, but the strat to kill it is rather easy, I didn't even use a medpac, not even close. There is an unlockable difficulty lvl - Impossible. So ... i think this game will require a lot more work on Hard or Impossible. I'm going to give the latter a shot and see how impossible it can be.

Great game though, very cool.

They're both great games.

I just beat Dead Space this morning on medium, you get some nice unlockables and such... won't tell ya what though =p. You can play it again through the difficulty you beat it on, but with all your weapons and upgrades. OR - you can start on a new diff. lvl from square one. There is a "survivor" like mode on dead space - "Impossible".

Bioshock is probably a longer game, Dead Space was 12hrs for me. I'd go with Bioshock, its practically the same sort of thing. I liked Dead Space a lot and I will probably play it again, but I may get Bioshock too... that game is one of the best around.

Get Bioshock.
