I demand a 16" square cell-phone running in 4K and a minion to carry it for me, and dial, and so on ... !

In other news ... 'HD' almost beats the LCD monitor you had in 2004.

My PC wants a PS4 to put in its empty drive bays ... you know ... as a pet. It thinks they look cute and retro. So it tells me.

It didn't say anything about the Xbox1one.

As a quick PS: The site you link appears to have similar data on ownership rates. CF it with the homicide rates and see what you conclude.

@Quarion45 @Crowgasm888 @themc_7Hi Quarion - sure. If you take a look at the gun ownership rate by country, per capita, and then the gun crime rates per capita, nationally, you'll see while the USA is significantly higher than other countries (and higher than when I last looked into this, I must admit), the numbers of a simple correlation just don't jibe in the direct/simplistic way often presented:

Gun ownership: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country

Gun homicide rates (includes suicide and accidental), by country: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate

If those links are stripped here then look up 'gun crime by country' and 'gun ownership by country' at your favorite not-entirely-reliable-but-will-suffice wiki of choice.

For the record, I'm not arguing there's no link between gun density and number of gun-related deaths, as I said above. That would be folly. But rather, the gun density stat does not explain or stand as main cause/issue.

@ViskiJack All cultures produce sociopathic personalities and people prone to permit heinous acts by one means or another. The idea that the USA is the leader in that field is silly, frankly. As a former British citizen now living in the USA, the USA is not the country you think you know/see on TV or in movies or the news. Context is much more complex and nuanced.

@themc_7 Even gun control isn't the issue, even in the USA. There are countries with similarly high gun ownership density (not as high, but approaching; cf: Switzerland, NZ, Scandinavia as a whole, as good examples) but much lower gun-crime rates than the USA. It's a cultural issue beyond the ratio of gun ownership.

Of course, having a gun and shooting someone with it is easier if you have a gun, but a simple/direct correlation between gun ownership density and gun crime rates don't stand up to proper scrutiny.

Number of formal sociological academic studies with sound methodological approaches that looked for a direct link between violent media content (movies and subsequently video games) since the 1970's: hundreds

Number of formal sociological academic studies with sound methodological approaches that looked for a direct link between violent media content (movies and subsequently video games) since the 1970's: none - that's zero. 0.

Scapegoat-ism is very popular among the ADD mass media and a convenient flag issue for politicians looking for a quick and easy press release.

Addressing the real issues behind violent behavior in our societies is entirely more complicated and not something newspapers or politicians are interested in tackling.Sociological study of issues isn't exactly sound-bite friendly.

Now, I'm off to the local mall with my flak cannon and crowbar. See you on CNN ...
