@Double-Ego @gufberg They can monitor, and they do. I tried to get a refund on "From Dust," but they determined 3 hours was too much playtime to give one to me.
@Dredcrumb9 @Godendag I can assure you that Feinstein won't succeed on any legislation regarding gun control, save for maybe stricter background checks (if even that). It's just posturing on her part. To call it "tyrannical" only serves to scare other gun enthusiasts into senseless stockpiling, which ironically only screws their fellow hobbyists by driving cost up.
And just for the record, I'm left of center, and I think she's an idiot.
Politicians, all of them, give knee-jerk reactions to anything they don't understand, because it wins points with constituents and gives a hard-on to their base. I'd put money down that she's never played a video game, and has little to no idea about the industry or its consumers. Therefore, her reactive instinct is to simply lay blame and ban it. You see it happen on both sides all the time. It's human nature to naturally fear anything we don't understand.
This is why I laugh whenever I hear the press or gamer's say "how much better can these games look?" In another 5 to 7 years they'll be saying the same thing, and then we'll have another major leap.
I'll tell you how much better they can look. When you can't, in any way, shape, or form, tell the difference between the game you're playing and an actual live piece of footage, then you know they've reached the apex.
Moore's Law dictates that real-time graphics will continue to get better until artists decide otherwise.
