It's a smart decision. There's no reason to garner hype for the game, so why put something out ahead of time. Mass Effect is an established IP, and everyone knows that this game is coming out. There's little reason to create a smoke-and-mirrors demo (thereby giving fans potentially false impression of the final product), or show something unfinished.

@cboye18: 3 had a terrible story, I'll give you that. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the game. New Vegas was, by far, my personal favorite.

TL;DR

Avoid this game until after June. It's only out now for the die-hard competitive scene. It has no business being sold as is for $60. It's essentially an early-access title retailing for full price.

I'm thoroughly done with Fallout 4 and Boston. It was a fun sandbox shooter while it lasted, wrapped up in an awful story with some of the worst characters I've ever seen. Mods were the only thing that drove me to play behind the 10 hour mark.

I hope the expansions take the many criticisms of the poor dialogue and weak story presented in the main game into account, but I'm not holding my breath.

@Bread_or_Decide My PC, which I built over 4 years ago, plays the game in triple screen mode (5960x1080) on Very High/Ultra settings with no problems. The only thing I've updated since the original build was my video card, and I'm only running a single GTX 770.

If you're not trying to do 4K, you don't need an expensive computer to run this game. It's very well optimized, and has a ton of settings that can be configured to get the best experience for your machine.

An update to the awful MIDI quality music would've been much appreciated.

@spacekatgal Seems to be a common trend for a lot of "game development" graduates.

I'm really tired of university after university adding half-assed programs geared towards animation and game development simply to meet demand. Most of them don't give a rats ass whether or not their students land jobs, so long as they make money off the tuition and continue to dupe new students.

I foolishly went through one of these programs starting 10 years ago, proceeded to rip the program apart after completion due to the complete lack of direction and focus, and laughed when they finally "combined" the curriculum with their programming major a few years ago.

Degrees mean almost nothing in the world of game development. It's all about your portfolio, where you live, and the people you know.

What irrittated me the most however, was how the school always pointed to the handful of success stories (like 2 or 3 graduates) who managed to snag jobs at studios like Blue Sky and Rhythm & Hughes. Never mind the thousands of students who COULDN'T get a job after graduating due to ill-prepared portfolios thanks in large part to the half-baked curriculum and requirements.
