@contentxcontext Angry? No, just highly disappointed. Disappointed in this game, disappointed in Ninja Theory, disappointed in Capcom, disappointed in the reviewer, and disappointed in the people that eat it up without so much as an objective look at the game.

And please don't call me "young person". I'm probably older than you.

@sebastianfava Yup, writing was definitely at its best at 4. That scene, Nero taunting Agnus... and of course, the scene before Dante fights Agnus... priceless.

@sebastianfava DMC3 was a borderline masterpiece. DMC4, while still a great game in its own right, can't even compare.

@Pierce_Sparrow Go through the comments on here... almost everyone talking about the new look is someone claiming that it's the only reason people hate it. There are a few people looking down on it (myself included), but it's FAR from our main complaint.

@FolkIore IGN also said it can get up to 100 FPS... do they even know what that means?

@DredWulf Tameem Antoniades. Greek, not French, much to my dismay. He claims that he doesn't self-insert himself into his games, but hey, Dante does look a lot like him now, plus in the Twitter crawl at the end (yes, that really happens) you see his Twitter account front-and-center. That and the end cinematic is shot in Ninja Theory's office.

@ilikepandas When a reviewer is paid for their review, integrity is lost. A free review from someone who has played the game is worth infinitely more, since that fan/critic is reacting so much to the game that they are willing to put their time and effort into sharing that opinion to inform others while expecting to get nothing out of it.

There are plenty of terrible free/user reviews, but they're easy to spot and avoid. Bad professional reviews are tougher to weed out.

@MooncalfReviews It's pretty terrible, IMO. Devil May Cry never had the best stories, but they could at least stand on their own. And the ending is god-awful. I won't spoil much, but you figure after getting along so well for the entire game, Dante and Vergil would try talking things out instead of instantly reaching for their swords.

That and the "Secret Ingredient" part is ripped right out of a Futurama episode.

@stefip The problem is that the Devil May Cry name is its only real selling point. It's a mediocre-at-best game which would have received little to no attention if it had been called anything else. And with the terrible writing and juvenile humor (at one point Vergil literally mentions how his junk is bigger than Dante's), any attention it did receive would've been negative.

I'm certainly not the biggest DMC fan out there (having never played DMC2 for obvious reasons and only finishing DMC4 about a week ago), but it pains me to see a good series get an unneeded reboot that ends up so poorly.
