@GAMERALL I still don't understand people's problem with the dice... you know that just tapping it with Nero's basic buster attack will have it come up on whatever side was facing up when you hit it, right?

@Rickystickyman @KamuiFei There's no debate here. The game is limited to 30 FPS. That is a fact.

Oh... oh dear lord.
I know Gamespot isn't exactly known for the quality of their reviews, but there's a limit, even to that.

Let's see, just from the initial bullet points...

"Tight, enthralling, and deep combat"
It's so ridiculously dumbed down from the previous games. The axe will crush any enemy instantly, and certain weapons can stunlock enemies indefinitely. Stylish ranks aren't about using a variety of different attacks and weapons while dancing around your enemies' attacks, now they're just how much damage you can do (again, the axe will net you an SSS rank almost instantly).

"Big variety of weapons and enemies"
You do get a decent number of weapons, but you'll probably only use three of them. There are only a small handful of enemies, too, and about half of them look the same and have the same attacks.

"Imaginative demon designs"
Again with the previous point, they all look so similar. Hardly imaginative.

"Convincing voice acting"
...Were we playing the same game? Dante's lines sounded forced, Mundus's voice was bland as all hell, and don't even get me started on Vergil. Or the god-awful writing, for that matter.

"Reboots the series without compromising its soul."
Any soul DMC had was ripped out and mutilated during the production of this game. DMC was about stylish, over-the-top, enjoyable battles, humorous cutscenes, and one or two badass protagonists. This thing is an angst-fest that fails at even the simplest attempts at social commentary.

And regarding Dante's new look, I remember when the creator said that the original Dante looked silly and that no one likes that look. Yet there was gargantuan backlash when the new look was revealed, and at one point in the game, a white wig falls on Dante's head, and he laughs at it and throws it off. That's like giving a middle finger to the previous character designers. Oh, and then Dante gets white hair and a brighter-colored-red jacket in Devil Trigger, plus an alternate outfit that resembles the old Dante, so I don't quite understand why they would include this if Dante's old design was as laughable as they said.

This game is a travesty in every way, plain and simple. And I reinforce that point by saying that at one point in the game, Vergil aborts a baby by shooting it through its mother's back, after Dante fights the baby with dubstep music.

The sad thing is that, even with all these realistic graphics, I'd much rather play certain N64 games than any game currently out for the 360 and PS3, even with the N64's obvious inferior graphics. Then again, the PS3 and 360 did have about 10 years on the N64. As far as SC4 goes, the only differences I see are brightness and a slightly better texture on Tira's pants on the 360 version. Like that tiny difference will matter when you're playing it.
