@floridadragon67 @Claytonicus Different sites, different figures, but conceptually i'm coming back to the exact same point that i raised before. They HAD many more players than they do now. They sold 12 million copies of Diablo 3, yet to have so few of those 12 million people playing the game speaks for itself. EVERY single one of my friends who bought the game now never plays it. 2 of those people also had their accounts hacked, and when the tried to get them recreated, blizzard support simply told them they would have to buy new accounts (even though they could prove their transaction history). And no, Blizzard does not listen to the community, otherwise there would be no always online DRM.
Having said my little rant, i am always hopeful of the future, and it would be ignorant to judge something before it has even been released. Perhaps they might turn things around with this expansion, but too little, too late for my liking. The exact same can be said for Dragon Age Origins vs DA2. Great original, crap sequel, and now they are scrambling to produce a 3rd game to win back to masses. I like to hold onto hope that companies will amend their ways, and return to their roots (which is producing games that people enjoy), but for myself, and the majority of people (i can say that with certainty) Blizzard have become a name that i now no longer trust, nor care about. I was disappointed with SC2, and D3, and i'm not sure i'll give them another chance.
Blizzard sales team: Hmmm... How can we restore people's faith in our franchise after we have failed them so utterly with our crappy AH, and always online DRM (even though the majority of people just wanted the single player experience).
Noob sales team member: I know, lets make a 4 minute video clip for our new expansion that in no way reinforces our commitment to providing a quality service to the multitude of fans that we screwed over when we released that piece of junk called D3.
Sales Director: I have no creative or inspiring ideas, so at this point in time i'm pretty much open to any suggestion right now. We should have plenty of money left over from the "rape and pillage user expansion pack" that we released way back when we made WOW, so yes, a video clip sounds like a wonderful idea.
Public relations team member: Perhaps we should reverse some of our policies to show the community that we value them, and want them back, like Microsoft did with the XBONE
Blizzard CEO: Lets wait until i find another CEO position with a different company where i can make lots of money by exploiting millions of unsuspecting people before we change any policies that might affect my resume. Perhaps EA?
@floridadragon67 @Claytonicus The average number of players is approximately 2.1 million per day as per http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/05/21/diablo-3-one-year-anniversary-infographic-unleashes-hellishly-huge-numbers/. These figures were drawn in May, so i daresay the number of players has only diminished since then. 3 million indeed, and props on your skewing of figures. Considering their peak daily numbers was once 5.8 million, i'm pretty sure that well more than a 50% drop in usage in around a year represents player sentiment. Once people realised how atrocious the game was their numbers significantly dropped. I also didn't mention AH in my post, so i would appreciate it if you wouldn't attempt to use this point to attack MY OPINION. I never used AH, and that has nothing do do with my utter dislike for the pile of steaming crap that is D3. They took 12 years to make a game that was appallingly bland and uninspired, not to mention short. If this is your kind of game, then so be it and good for you. For the majority of hardcore gamers however, who have followed Blizzard since warcraft 1 like i have, this game is simply unacceptable. I played through the game once, and then tossed it aside, and haven't played it since. People talk about "high expectations" for Diablo 3 but this is just avoiding the facts. People had "high expectations" of D2, but people were so happy when it was released, and there was little in the way of griping about it. Blizzard simply failed to imagine when they made D3. As Einstein said, imagination is more important than knowledge. You keep playing your game with all your fanboy friends, and i will find a company worthy of receiving my hard earned money, a company with imagination, passion and creativity.
I love how they are trying to pitch this to the Diablo community. What community? They screwed themselves over with their greed and ineptitude that i, and many many others will NEVER buy another blizzard game. Blizzard, your community is dead, and you deserve this rejection of your new crapspansion.

This is pretty much how stupid fanboys sound. Coexist people, because there's plenty that both consoles are going to offer us all. Without a healthy competition between consoles, we would simply be getting served the most generic crap you've ever seen.
@mattlonergan @Claytonicus @fox_fury @jcr8 I was amazed the first time i saw Crysis 1 on full graphics. I think it was about 3 years before another game came even close to looking as good as what it did.
