They are lazy and now people are calling them out on it. Ive been saying this for a while. The game does not need marketing, its like Madden, it just sells itself. Activision and IW know this so why would they spend time making a trailer for a game they just assume people are going to buy? They refuse to spend money on modernizing the game, which is kind of ironic... it is called Modern Warfare... the least they can do is give the fans a somewhat modern engine instead of something from 10 years ago. This is the beggining of the end for CoD unless they make some changes to the IP... new engine, models, and feel would be a good starting point. Like it or not, when BF3 comes out all you will hear is EA's whisper of, "Tell me how my *** tastes"
I really dont know why the gaming industry cares... the average age of the modern gamer is 36. I think it has become a fight over principal... or maybe Infinity Ward is heading the fight. Without little kids to by their crappy game they would be nothing. On the other handthe government needs to stop trying to control peoples lives. Protecting us from ourselves does not accomplish much. The world is not going to be instantly safer, better or more moral because of this decision.
Its funny how some of you guys argue that its not fair that the PC looks so much better when in reality it really does look so much better. I have a 360, PS3 and a computer hooked to a 22" HDMI monitor and yes.... the PC looks 100x better. Too bad we cant get MGS4 on the PC, and Killzone 2 when it comes out.
