@tanzel: How does it not? This is a very small, very isolated incident of someone editing this game to prank someone else (my understanding of it is that it's something rather easy to do. I don't know about how the ghost hands got in there, but the 5 player room was altered by a simple registry edit.) How jaded do we have to be collectively to condemn anyone for someone so banal?

If we were to call this person "toxic" for this one incident, and assume that he/she has done worse, assume that he/she did this out of malice, assume that he/she has no place in civilization, at what point do our assumptions make us toxic, ourselves?

Personally, I am going to assume that this person created a scare within a scary game for a giggle, and nothing more.

@tanzel: That kind of bet is more dangerous than what actually transpired.

@tanzel: I understood the context as a rather large assumption of someone's character for something that was rather harmless. Was it scary? I guess it could be. Was it long-lasting, or anything close to enduring harrassment? Not at all.

@Blk_Mage_Ctype: I think you're going a little too far. Seems like a fairly harmless scare, and pretty funny. If anything, the video was an over-reaction to something that was obviously not normal.

@Richardthe3rd: I think it depends on the person, for sure. I don't usually read user reviews, but I pay attention to when they get review-bombed. Usually, it's for a reason completely separate from the game itself (developer behavior and whatnot.) And depending on the severity, it may influence my decision to purchase. To that end, it's great, because many times over companies would much rather just sweep most of their dirt under the rug and continue on as nothing happened.

If the scores were meaningless, there wouldn't need to be a change. As they are right now, they are a signal-if not anything else.

While I don't engage in bombing myself, I definitely think it has a place. Of course, the most recent example being LOU2... and no matter how you felt about the game itself, the practices surrounding the game's release-from lying to the public about gameplay to abusing DMCA-deserved to be highlighted. Sure, some of the bombs came from people's opinion about the game, but I highly doubt it would have been as bad if the pre-release mistakes hadn't been so egregious.

Here's to hoping someone gets the gall to replace Metacritic now.

I didn't touch New Dawn, but a lot of FC games seem to be the same soulless swill Ubi has been selling for awhile. I'd love to see that change.
