i would like to know if most ps3's are connected online somehow as a ps3 is pretty much useless without online gaming and other stuff. And is there a way of updateing FWire without online connectivitypsp_bwoy

The 700,000+ people on the Warhawk leaderboards is a LIE! Don't believe it!

Also ignore all the awesome single player games! Like MGS! and DMC!

What, the "so no worries" at the end didn't tickle anyone?

While checking messages in game is really nice, and a feature i wanted, putting in the entire XMB to do it is a bit unnessary isn't it? Although it was probably the easiest way to do it, which is probably why they did it. In game music is kinda silly, I have other ways of listening to music while i play my ps3, and I wouldn't in game anyway. Xbox users like to brag about the feature, but I've never known one to use it, so frankly I don't care if they ever add it.

Anyway they coulda just added a message feature to the original menu.

Anyone else think this is junk? I mean, I can't really do anything new except look at messages and friends, and now I gotta dig through menu's to find something as simple as Quit Game. I haven't seen the other options yet. Is there more functionality planned for it?

It isn't because FF is an overhyped franchise. I don't like most of the FF games, but FF7 was a good game, and that's why people want it remade. Nothing to do with the franchise, just a good game. People that don't want the remake change the discussion to a franchise matter. Why is that?

Great decision. Even better would be to wait a little longer. There is no need to buy a PS3 until great, must-have, system seller games come out in late 2008 - early 2009. By then there will have most likely been a drastic price cut so its a win win for you. In the meantime you can catch up all the great 360 and Wii games coming out this year and next.

You do realize FF, GTA and MGS (among others), 3 of playstations biggest hits will be out this year? Not to mention Heavenly Sword which looks good, and all the other non exclusives like UT3. By the end of the year PS3 will have the best lineup of all the systems... assuming nothing goes wrong.

[QUOTE="ctmab"]Gamestop and EB Games hate the ps3. When you walk in to my EB Games the first thing you see are a million Xbox 360 Signs. The Wii and the PS3 games are tucked away in a corner beside the door where no one looks.magus-21

Your right, at least partly haha... thats why the xbox games are way in the back, while you gotta walk past 3/4 of the store that's PS2 games. PS2 games then the used PS2 games before you even see Xbox, because PS2  is where the sales are since it still outsells the Xbox360 and has a better library to boot.  However, in all the Gamestops I've been in, the Xbox was in the worst position, for good reason.

Anyway, as far as the business side goes, believe it or not it's not bad business to not cheat your customers.  Shocking I know.  I have a PS3, I only have one game (Resistance) and probably won't buy another one for a while, as none are comming out I want till at least this summer.  Waiting 7 months to find another game I want does suck, and they are simply telling people that.  Besides the favorable opinion the would be buyer would have for saving them all that money (and reputation is everything in business), selling a person a system when they won't be comming back for games isn't to feasable.

People that say it's bad business to stop people from buying something bad obviously shouldn't have a position higher than a floor worker.  Long term benefit people, making a sale today and going out of business tomorrow does nothing.

Now, from a personal perspective, I wish they wouldn't do that because more PS3's that sell, the more games there will be for the PS3, and as a PS3 owner, that is what I want.  I'm a long time Playstation fan, and sincerely hope the PS3 succeeds, but I think it will when it gets a good library.  I -am- rather disapointed the PS3 was delayed so long and still has so few games.

Who cares if the Wii has the GC library? Personally I wouldn't take a gamecube if it was given to me, because there is nothing on it I want to play. The PS3 has the PS2 and PS1 library, which most people will agree is the best library out there. The PS3 might be a lot of money to drop at once, and the 360 might be cheaper (Isn't it $499 for the fully loaded 360?), but by now you've either bought a rechargeable battery pack or a lot of batterys plus if you play online at least a years worth of XboxLive subscription, your pretty close to the price of a PS3 (or way over if you got the loaded one for $499) and still getting less. True the 360 has more games ( although of them all I think I may play 2) but the PS3 will have its exclusives out later this year. Unless the Wii gets better games out, I think it will stagnate and the PS3 will surge with its good games. Oh and since exclusives are part of this topic... Nintendo might still own the gamecube, but Zelda -was- ported to it, so its not a true exclusive.... and nearly every Xbox game is at least on the computer, even their so called "exclusives". Nintendo is using the same old names as before, and even Zelda, a game I've long enjoyed, is starting to get a bit stale, since little tends to change from game to game. And yes, I realize Microsoft owns Windows and Xbox but you can still play pretty much all Xbox games without an Xbox, and they even ported games like Halo they called exclusive. Besides, lets not all forget the fact that the PS2 is almost 7 years old and still outselling the Xbomb360, so I don't know why people brag on it and its games so much. Xbox needs to raise their sells by... 10 fold to catch the PS2? I truely feel for you non-american/japanese that will miss out on the emotion chip, but all in all I'd say your still getting a good deal, even if its not immediatly obvious. I'm willing to bet Sony will do its best to emulate every game possible.
