Yeah I basically only consider the first two as part of my version of canon. I push 3 and 4 into the same category as the AVP movies, glorified fan fiction. I found Prometheus ok, minus the utterly brain dead scientists (Oh look, something new, MUST TOUCH EVERYTHING LOLOLOL).

Also for those of you who had a chance to got to it the AVP house at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios was pretty sick.

Yeah I would wait. It would not be the first time the group has stirred the pot to get some more controversy, they live off the stuff. As for the talk about the state gov getting prepped for potential rioting that much is confirmed though. They were caught unprepared for it last time and a chunk of the town burned, I doubt they will be off footed again.

As for the verdict itself I also would not be surprised if he walks, some of the supposed evidence that was leaked, if true, would be in his favor. Either way place is a red barrel waiting for a spark.

Its not just a European issue. For example both Russia and Japan have a serous problem with shrinking populations and it will play a huge part in our collective future.

Russia: Birthrate is dropping and there is almost no immigration (Does anyone really WANT to move the Russia?). Gov is giving out prizes for having kids. Could lead to more hiring of outside workers to fill in job vacancies at home.

Japan: Birthrate is flat lining and culturally they accept almost no immigration at all. This is a big problem because their population is ageing rapidly and without young people to support the social structure could lead to collapse of system.

Europe: Birthrate is falling but Immigration is steady however there is very little assimilation. European Xenophobia/racism/superiority complex whatever you called it results in Immigrants staying isolated among themselves. Most likely conclusion is that when "native" European numbers decrease to below majority status then there will be a major culture shift toward the newly majority immigrant population, resulting in either peaceful or aggressive responses from the "natives". It helps the immigrants that on average they have higher birth rates then the native Europeans.

U.S.: Slowing birthrate but large immigration/ moderate assimilation. This means the growth rate continues but on the backs of the fast growing minority population. This minority population is not fully part of the new culture but not of the older one too.

If you take it to the extreme result (which would take over a hundred years or more) of all these countries you get either a "vacant Russia" who relies on outside labor, a non existent Japan whose will effectively vanish as people , a Europe that either has the small powerful minority battling against the majority/ where what it means to be European is culturally much more different then it is today, and a U.S. that will be a hybridization of old Americana and Latin Culture.

I know this causes heart palpitations in a lot of people but I do find it rather fascinating how our current modern cultures will evolve into the future of our world. After all history is filled with the rise, movements , falls, and rebirths of cultures and peoples.

I don't know, the whole "No other different opinion than our own will be tolerated" / "You are free to say whatever you want, as long as you agree with me on it" attitude doesn't sit well with me.

Sure it means less loonies out there spewing conspiracy theories but I'd rather have them and be allowed to make up my own damn mind then having a group of people I've never met tell me "they are not worth consideration" and then shutting them all up, leaving just their pre approved bits.

As long as they do it in their own home or business and away from those of us who don't want to partake then I have no problem with it (hell tax them high and make some money). But for crying out loud stay off the road, my cousin and his daughter got into a head long collusion with some pot head who thought it would be great to go for a drive higher then the ISS (just pot, no alcohol or other drugs in his system). Idiot didn't realize he crossed over into the oncoming lane and hit them. They made it thankfully but my cousin was cut up pretty bad. Needless to say they sued this guy out the ears.

I have seen talking head after talking head call this everything from the "Apocalypse for Women" to the "The Lord's Joyous Second Coming." The truth is that its neither, break down as follows:

1) Ruling applies to "closely held corporations only" (CHC), this is a legal distinction (and one verified by the IRS) that you own a business in where 50% plus of the shares are owned by less then 5 people (relatives) and not a publically traded company. People who are saying this means that Corporations everywhere are suddenly "going to find Jesus" are overly simplifying it, mainly because the loss of profit for a public corporation to go CHC (from no longer having public shareholders, loss of big corp tax breaks, etc.) would be substantially more than the savings of not covering those contraceptives. The legal paperwork alone would cost a pretty penny while the contraceptives themselves would not be as expensive (and if there is one thing corporations can be counted to do is find the way to maintain profit). Hobby Lobby is religious and so is willing to pay the costs of fighting for their beliefs.

2) The ruling only exempts Hobby Lobby from providing 4 of the 20+ contraceptive options mandated by Obamacare. Specifically the two Morning after pill types and two types of IUD's. The remaining contraceptives (including the Pill) actually make up 80% of the contraceptives used in the US. People who say that millions of women will now be without contraceptives (like I heard someone say this morning) fail to see that most people will continue to have access to the contraceptives they use the most.

3) The vote was along the usual ideological lines, 4 conservatives, 4 liberals, one swing vote (Justice Kennedy). I had someone tell me this was some vast misogynist conspiracy because all the women voted against it. I told her that if you gender reassigned every person on the bench they would still vote according to their entrenched ideology. Now the justices on both sides will say otherwise but the truth is they probably already had their minds made up when they granted the writ of certriari (permission for case to go to Supreme Court). Except Kennedy, that guy votes on whatever side of the bed he wakes on.

4) I've heard some of the supporters of the ruling saying this would finally free them from having to provide for the "abortion" drugs. It wont, President Obama has already said he plans to work around the ruling, maybe requiring that the Fed gov pay for these contraceptives, which means we the tax payer will still be stuck paying for it. (Quite the irony for those Hobby Lobby supporters eh?)

5) The gist of the ruling is basically the government, through Obamacare, did not use the "least restrictive means" to regulate an activity that interferes with the practice of religion. Freedom of Religion is a "Fundamental Right (found in the Constitution) while the right to contraceptives is a "prenumbra right" (a right that was later found by the courts in the "shadow" of the Constitution). Take a guess which has priority.

6) Finally the ideological divide is whether you can use you freedom of religion rights in this case. Liberals say that your religious rights apply only in your home or designated place of worship, conservatives say you can take it anywhere. Doing business in the economy is the big gray area with court rulings for both sides. Please realize this before you start saying this is all some conspiracy or vendetta etc.

7) People are saying this is a big can of worms legally and it is. However a can of worms can go anywhere, including in the opposite direction the can is open in. And all of it is tempered by the speed of our court system, which is about as fast as an actual worm. I would wait and see how this plays out before saying that we have reverted to a third world country (seriously?)

In the end will anyone get everything they want? Nope. Some women will not get every single conceivable birth control they want on demand included in their job perks and some hyper religious people will still have to pay for "abortion" drugs when the Fed gov uses their tax dollars for it. Still the media, politicians, and others will make a scene for their respective teams.

Anyway, its up to you to make up your own mind on the matter.

The original series TLA was one of the best surprises I ever had on Nick, and to this day its one of my most favorite of all animated series. Legend of Korra is different from TLA, which will account for a lot of the hate it gets. But just because its different doesn't mean its terrible. In fact I will admit it has grown on me. Where as the core story of TLA, that of Aang, was phenomenal and flushed out Korra's draw is the side characters and lore. In all I'd say its the best show on Nick now, not as good as TLA 10/10 but a solid 8/10 to 8.5/10 in my book that's worth watching.

Besides this season is still young, who knows how much better it can get.

I don't think its a matter of us saving them, after all the type of resentment between the tribes goes to a time before the freaking crusades. The truth is that Iraq was just a provincial name given to the land by colonial powers and whose borders were basically just legal markings. So you get the same thing as India and Pakistan while they were part of the British Empire, two groups of people who HATE each other forced into one country. The difference is that in India and Pakistan both sides (Muslims and Hindus) went to their own side of the former colony and made their own countries (and fought numerous and bloody wars since.) Saddam was able to stay in power by blowing the hell out of the opposite tribe and ruling by fear.

I see three states coming out of this. The Shiite Malaki Iraq gov in the south, backed by Iran, the ISIS Sunni in the West backed or at least tolerated by the Saudi Arabians, and the Kurds to the North, hated by everyone.

The sad truth is the "best" outcome for us is to either try to decapitate the extremists offensive (which we have no will for) and may not work or just back off and let this millennia long conflict between Shia and Sunni go on, knowing full well that it can evolve into a full blown regional war with Ridyah and Tehran burning and most of the worlds energy supplies getting smashed.

The humanitarian part of me is saddened because this will be the deaths of tens maybe hundreds of thousands and untold levels of human suffering. The Machiavellian part of me simply acknowledges that this is a great way to get two groups of people who hate us (ISIS and the fanatics that attract them and the Iranians) busy killing each other. And the pragmatic part of me knows this is going to be a $^!* storm that would probably lead to an energy crisis and conflicts elsewhere (like the energy rich East China sea where China has been pushing out our allies for that sweet energy.)

What a world eh?

Evil comes from individuals....and generalizing groups because of that is wrong.

Thoroughly agreed.

I also agree, shame to many people just want to smash others simply because its easier to lump them all into one category as "inferior".

Personally I prefer SW The Old Republic and Planetside 2 (while a shooter it can be pretty MMO like once you get hundreds of players in a single fight).
