for the record, that thing isn't a dungeon. it's as much of a dungeon as that introduction area in wind waker. your actual first dungeon has yet to come (yeah, the game has quite the slow start).
i don't have a wii u, but i might be getting one in the near future (or at least i'll borrow from a friend for some time while he's living abroad). that said, i might end up getting both versions >.>
going to bump this because the lack of this feature single handedly made me stop posting actively across multiple boards, and now i just lurk on one board, rarely ever bothering with threads.
What I decided to do since LttP was too similar was I have Link's Awakening on my 3DS and decided to play that one. I haven't played Link Between Worlds because I know my husband got it for me as a birthday gift so I have to wait :( but Link's Awakening is a solid game but not exactly like LttP and like good handheld Zeldas, it's short and sweet and different enough to not feel like an overkill. So I would suggest one of the GB games or even Minish Cap for the GBA which I think is criminnaly under rated.
When I am getting ready to play a new game on a big series, the last thing I want to do is to play a game of that same series to warm up. I think it diminishes the freshness of the new title.
yeah, that's how i feel. it might make me feel a little bit burned out throughout the new game's playthrough, and as a result make it a lesser experience.
if it was your first time with wind waker, that would've been like picking a favorite son. you can't just choose on which zelda to pass.
but since you've played the original wind waker, the HD release would probably be just a trip down memory lane. so my vote goes for the 3DS with a link between worlds.
