As long as they release the game, I'm happy, but this does not bode well for a possible franchise if there is hostility between creators and whoever ends up with the rights to it.

Calm down, people! Wait until the actual system is announced. You know, with FACTS instead of this endless barrage of "reports" we continually see, each with its own "reliable" source to tell us what the next system will be like. When Sony shows off what it's ACTUALLY going to do with its next-gen system, THEN you can berate them for whatever your heart desires. Until then, we're just speculating into endless contradictions and rumor-based panicking.

...besides, all they said is that Sony was TESTING a controller. They probably tested a bunch of other stupid crap, too. We'll have to wait and see what they actually ended up with later this year.

I agree, I enjoyed RE4 immensely when it first came out, and it DID mix a faster pace with genuine horror/dread well. But soon after, third person horror games have evolved into sci-fi/action, focusing on how many ways we can kill as many grotesque-looking things as possible. Power-fantasy pretty much sums up the trend after RE4, as the horror element of these games now (outside of a few, like Silent Hill Downpour and many indie games) is only used to create non-human monsters for us to easily gun down.

Survival horror in this industry reeds a revival. Badly. Everything is so... generic.

I'm glad it was settled somewhat nicely, but I'm still sad this whole situation came about in the first place. I love the Kevin Butler character, Lambert was great and it was definitely Sony's best marketing campaign! Sad he's not still out there promoting the Vita or something lol

Wow, that's pretty cool. It would be cool to see a full platformer that used that kind of live action photo/video-centric background!

@Zonno I was absolutely floored by how the game instilled shame into me, regardless of its simplicity in terms of gameplay. It disappoints me it wasn't praised higher, if anything just for its brave approach to the shooter genre. I'd give it an 8 to 9 overall.

The voice acting seems a little wooden, but the return of Michael Biehn and Lance Henriksen is utterly awesome and the story seems intriguing (who is the hooded captive? Hicks? Hudson?). Also, is that Col. Campbell from Metal Gear as the marine leader? Sounds like him.
