I thoroughly enjoyed all of that.

Let's see... By American standards, that's a little under $200 for the card, so that seems like good value for the money. The 970 is an excellent card (I own one) and will serve you well for all 1080p gaming. It will be night and day when coming from a 7870.
I'm lucky enough to have a few Micro Centers near me and have bought many open box cards for use in resale builds. My best haul was a Gigabyte R9 290X for $115 (which is otherworldly). I grabbed it and -- realizing the following result was likely -- it was a brick. That said, I RMA'd it, waited my month and got back the same card repaired & good as new.
Had an RMA not been possible, I would have returned it the same day and not thought about it again.
If the card works when you get it home, great! If it doesn't, RMA it while your 7870 holds down the fort or return it with only your time and effort being a loss.
Great, great, thought provoking topic. It gets me to thinking (and maybe for the very first time):
If only we in the U.S. could institute a free education system where we are constantly taught this abstract and esoteric notion from the time we develop our first thoughts to the dawn of our adult lives.
Perhaps one day entire lesson plans and course studies will be dedicated to this subject and our literature, music and art might reflect that our origins hailed from places other than Orlando, Hackensack, Scranton or Sacremento. Even special days -- holidays -- could be dedicated to this notion, celebrating our ancestral cultures and bringing awareness to others that this, indeed, was how America was formed. Yes, perhaps one day this will be the norm!
Alas, until that day, we will have to depend enlightened and pioneering forum topics in forums such as this to remind us of a larger, fuller world that might never have occurred to us otherwise.
Actually, Wilson characterized certain Trump voters as "single, childless, anime jerk-fiends". You see, my joke was that I refuted the first two, but didn't mention the third. Gawd. The funny cap was low to begin with, but having to explain it...
Anyway, much is made of the nut jobs on the right when every side gets its crazies going around election time.
The right has hitler quoting neo-nazis. The left has MoveOn.org. It's all relative.

A.) I'm not surprised.
B.) Your...um... "lifestyle" declarations don't belong in a football forum.
