Is anyone else not able to take this thread seriously after reading "brain scientist"?

Japan used to be the epitome of game design in previous generations....That's not seen as much now a days. Yes, Demon Souls has the unique online concept built in, but that is the only new thing it adds. Other than that, it's a pretty standard action RPG. You also have to remember that for every game like Demon's Souls, there are 5-10 standard JRPG with cliche characters and tons of fanservice. And I would like to know these other japanesse games that take interesting online concepts. I'm honest. If you know of some, I would like to know.
Also, you can't fault the American game industry because it has the same problem as the Japanesse industry. For every original game, there are 5-10 standard FPSs. You can't forget about a game like Scribblenauts or LittleBigPlanet (both made outside of Japan). In 2007, we had many games that pushed the envelope narrative-wise, and many were made in the United States. I'm talking about games like Portal and Bioshock that properly executed proper story-telling without the use of cutscenes orhuge amounts of testosterone or explosions.
I'm sorry?
Are you implying that theres suppose to be a GOOD time to be a fanboy?!? Or am I just misinterpreting it
As a 360 fan I hope you are right about the $100 price cut. I think that would be funny as heck. Sony posting a $3 billion loss and you think they will take another $100 hit off of each console? At least then there would only be two consoles to choose from next gen.rybe1025
I think no one (at least no one mature) would laugh if Sony, makers of one of the greatest consoles to every shine on the market (PS2), would drop out and never have another go at trying to make something astonishing. Just imagine if Nintendo never made another console after the Gamecube I would have never played Mario Galaxy :(
Blasphemy!
How dare you compare the PS2 with anything else but God! :P lol
But in all seriousness, the Wii would be the PS2 of this gen if it had just a tad more variety in their game instead of the main casual appeal....but no neither the PS3 nor 360 are newhere near the PS2
Bethesda have reminded me why I have always despised WRPGs and will never buy any after that crap story in Fallout 3. While I thought the whole story was bogus from the get-go, the open world aspect intrigued me for a while. Then, when I was bored of it, I went off and finished the game.
Boy what a mistake! As I recall, my emotions throughout the ending were: confusion as to why it was ending so abruptly, frustration at the poor execution of said ending (horrible animation/dialogue), and finally anger at amaturish epilogue that consisted of still black and white photos while some guy in the background says the obvious that I was good/evil (which felt like a big "F*** YOU!" instead of a "Thank You For Playing" moment).
I tossed my controller when the credits started rolling, turned off the PS3 and walked away. No more WRPGs for me thank you very much
Once we conquer the real...we'll move on to the surreal
