The Wii cannot relate to any past systems. It is trying to get casual users by making games that most hardcore gamers are not interested in. However, I cannot say I completely dislike the Wii becasue of the few great games that have come out on it. (Smash Bros Brawl, Zelda, Metroid)

i think PS3= SNES and 360 =Genesis

Sega who had an ok console (master system) beats Nintendo in releasing a new console and it's really popular and has great games and nintendo who dominated the previous gen releases the SNES later but eventually the SNES ends up selling more.

i dont think the SNES had such a rocky start or so much hate as the PS3 but you get the idea

There is no PS2 of this gen, there is no XBox of this gen, and there is no Gamecube of this gen. This is a new gen, and new precedents are being set. Maybe last-gen, you could have said "PS2 is the new PS1", or "Dreamcast is the new Saturn", or even now, you could probably call PS3 the new Saturn, but that's about it.GinoNYC
