Poor Marketing, Insomniac never really did much to keep their online community thriving, only two DLC drops throughout R2's lifespan, and R2's story was terribly told and you only truly grasped the story and background if you collected all the intel.
It seems that most games aren't actually good enough per say because they don't innovate themselves and try to differentiate themselves from the rest of the industry, seldom games do and we love them for that ex: Dark Souls, Little Big Planet series, and Indie games in general.
I like 13 far more over its predecessor 12 especially thanks to the overhauled graphics, and it still is a fun game with friends or just to take your team to the super bowl.
