Japanese animation is as diverse as the movie industry, those that you mentioned fall in the .. f*cking horrendous genre of spiky hair, big eyes and porn appeal. I also loathed anime, before actually dwelving into it because i've finished my favorite TV series (waiting on Supernatural and The Walking Dead atm.)

Try some that are aimed at adults, like Monster - a psychological thriller, Legend of the Galactic Heroes - Star Wars with more depth and scope, Ergo Proxy & Texhnolyze - cyberpunks with tons of depth, Mushishi - relaxing artistic supernatural, Hajime no Ippo - boxing, etc.

Those would be my favorite. There are a good chunk of excellent gems, and it would be a shame to ignore them, and label all anime as horrible as the genre i was speaking of above.

lovely, the JRPG discussion triggered itself without my intervention. hopefully people will realize that it's a stupid term, and that "west" doesn't mean "everything that isn't japan". and that japan, as they've proven with dark souls, is just as capable of making different, unique games that don't fit the stereotype as "the west". i'd love for someone to define WRPG for me, and successfully tie together mass effect, deus ex, diablo, skyrim and the witcher (the latter being pretty much a JRPG made by polish people, since it follows every single stereotype associated with JRPGs. on a side note, poland isn't considered "west" by anyone but gamers).BrunoBRS

Games that hold your hand, and does not challenge you what so ever, entire franchises, ruined, to please the masses, and anual soulless games, like Halo, and Call of Duty.

Sephiroth on Kingdom Hearts. Truly a proper boss that lives up to the legend.

Other than that, Chad on Syphon Filter 2, The final boss(es) of the original Ninja Gaiden, the final boss in Shadowman (Forgot his name), Edea on FF8, when you fight her second time, and some others i will probably think of in 5 minutes.

I must say that, that the new Zelda games are in no way impressive, not like Ocarina of Time when it first came out. There was nothing quite like it back then.

DayZ, while quite exiting at first, is actually quite bland. The entire game would need to be changed, or fleshed out greatly.

And for gods sake, get off the ARMAII engine. Its awful (But oh so pretty).
