On the one hand it might have improved launch numbers but on the other hand they could have had a really low selling PS3 title so it could have gone either way. It's a better strategy to say "lets release it on the older system and wait to see if the new system lives up to expectations then the next game we can release on that system when ithas a better install base."
And yeah, the production lead time on FF12 means they wouldnt have had a development kit in time to make it a PS3 game anyway.
The quality of a HDTV willbe evident when you finally play it on one, but make sure it's a quality one. You might get the urge to drop your money on a lower quality one just for the price decrease and you;ll find they arnt always worth the money due to the refresh rate or the color quality or a few other technical reasons that would make a beautiful PS3 game look pretty bad.
The PS button dosent light up because there's no light in it. You;ve have to mod it with your own if you want it too but other wise all the pics where you see it lit are only for promotional purposes.

Anyway to try and respond to ogt462, I wasnt trying to get anyone to comment on anger I only posted the picture as a humorous aside to the fact that I think Motorstorm is a better choice. The other guy was the one who wanted to make a federal case out of it. Like you said people hit their steering wheel in a car or curse out the other driver they dont drive off a cliff when they're angry, and concidering the damage I could have done crackign a controller was far more favorable than hurting someone else or myself for that matter. I've smashed things in the past, hell, you should see my NES controllers, But I'm not trying to dfend it as the right thing to do.
It was a heat of the moment thing to do and in that instant it's not about the code on the disk or the peice of plastic in your hands, it's about the fact that you're mad and you have to let out bottle anger created by any number of sources (in this case GF issues, credit issues, and the fact that the game has horrible controls), sometimes you let it out in ways you regret and I was hoping my indiscretion would be viewed more tongue in cheek and maybe warn off a similar person who might not be as in control. No. people only freak out louder, not more. It's the "squeeky wheel gets the grease" syndrome. People who enjoy the SP experience have no reason to complain because 9 times out of 10 the SP is the most important part of the game and they arnt likely to get shortchanged on a console.
The people who want MP online are just really really loud about it and makes it seem like it's more important than it is. Look at the first Xbox, Live was it's huge selling point yet dispite having the most robust online infrastructure the PS2 still outsold it in every way shape and form (and still is today) while people all over complained about it having horrible online features.
Obviously more people care about core game play than multiplayer game play.
Oh it looks amazing there's no doubt about that at all but it's just extremely dissapointing to loose something that was integral to the first game, This isn't "Warhawk", this is "shooting 34 other people with assorted weapons and occasionally a plane". As a MP game for the sake of an MP game fine but they've taken what people where hoping to be a fun SP vehicular war game away in one fell swoop. And that's why people are annoyed.
I'm willing to bet there would be people who wouldnt even bother to play MP if there was a SP game but now they dont have that option at all.
As for lair, it's similar with the whole flying thing but it's still a very differnt game, atleast from what we;ve seen (only seen a single level so far so it's hard to tell anything really.)

The only thing I can think of for them to dump the SP was that they failed to program it correctly from the start and the AI either was horrible or they had difficulty maintaining the battle on all fronts. This would mean that when you went into the air the ground battle stopped untill you went back to it and then the air battle would stop. These would ruin the SP for all intents an purposes but if they got that far there had to be uge problems from the start on the title and this was the only way to save it from being canceled.
And no SP campaigns DO NOT always suck in "these types of games" because frankly the first game was fun as hell, why they couldnt do that here with even mroe power than they had on the PS1 boggles the mind. You want to down SP just because you want the game as it is. Like the MP is fine but dont try to justify an ignorant position for that preferance.
I would say in a choice between this and VF5, VF5 is the better looking game but Tekken is probably the more fun game from past experience. If you could wait until Tekken 6 that'd be great but with few fighters and DefJam looking like it's going to suck, I can't say get VF5.
