my money is on EA being more profitable overall by not trying to force players into it with advertisement campaigns with real actors rather than in game footage.
Overall the BF3 is a better package and with a pay once scheme it should save loyal fans alot on map packs in the future, with additional perks on top this. Those who don't wish to use the scheme can still purchase the maps they want, if they want, and servers for normal game modes and maps are still up and running which I think is good.
EA, not screwing over their customers? What is this!
I am looking forward to this game, but I'm preparing for disappointment after AvP. Loving the ideas but I think that the human blood needs some work even if it just sticks to the environment. Everything else is looking very slick!
I was really hoping it would be based during the New Republic era whereby Bounty Hunters hunt the jedi for big payouts. Would be good to be on the wrong side of the jedi for a change, and not as some demented sith, just as someone who wants a new ship or whatever.
Still looks good though, glad they are trying something new!
I, like many people on here, thoroughly enjoyed KoA but felt it was so lacking. I really hope they aren't in financial trouble, though, as many of the issues could be fixed in a seqel as long as the studio is given the chance.
Much like Bulletstorm, this was a good game that was over looked for some flaws, despite it being a new IP, something gamers claim they wanna see more of. Unfortuantly that wasn't enough. Shame.
It's great they picked up on this, I mean gamers have been so suttle about it and all.
Will they listen to said gamers? Please.
Only time will tell but my guess is on a modified version of the current engine. Glitter on poo is still, unfortuantly, poo. Excuse the crude metephor but that seems to have become the case for CoD which is a shame as the series used to stand out from the crowd for the right reasons (decent WW2 games then a risky leap into a modern setting with a engaging story. Now they stick with that).
Loved the first game and the first expansion pack. Downloaded a mod called Eastern Front instead of buying Tales of Valour, howver due to the reviews I read from people who had bought it.
Great game and thoroughly looking forward to the sequel. And I really hope that this helps THQ out... A game industry with only EA and Activision as the primary publishers? *shudder*
I could imagine that the publishers would start leaving out content for used games - much like the Catwoman DLC that Rocksteady made available only to those who bought it new.
I dont really buy new so I don't mind, I will, however, stop preordering in case the game sucks and I can't trade it in.
I also believe that this is a mistake as it encourages those who computer literate to hack the game to make the content available if it is disc locked (Street Fighter X Tekken).
