okay i am not a fan of this game but i must admit it has some good combat sequences and gameplay which sometimes come out cool and cartoonish.but apart from combat the game lacks deep,making feel like a shallow action game.
1 Like @daviz88 I believe the combat is the game, the essence of an action game. I'm not sure what more you were expecting from this game ? It bears the title MGS only in name, must be a disappointment to some hardcore fans of the series but if you're an action fans then this looks pretty awesome.

1 Like Play all of the Metal Gear Solid series, included the PSP Portable Ops and Peace Walkers, (missed the Acid) I can say this game is at east different from the usual plot driven series, more action, but I bet they going to cramp weird stories and the NEW WORLD ORDER Kinda thingy, indicates our world is fuck and we are all pawns!
1 Like The demo for this game was amazing. It's what I expected from a game developed by Platinum Games : fast paced, fun, and challenging.
1 Like Just got through the demo, and I have to say it was pretty fun. Definitely more to it than a mindless button mashing hack n slash.
Graphics wise, not the best out there but still decent even for a demo.
3 Like Platinum Games has never disappointed before, I doubt they'll start now. I'd go as far as to say that they're the best fast-paced action game developers in the gaming industry right now.
I know this game won't please everyone (mainly the narrow-minded ones of the MGS fanbase), but I, someone who has every single Metal Gear game (including Metal Gear 1 and 2), can't wait for this beauty to be in my hands.
1 Like @Outer_Raven I don't agree with you. A lot of fans of MGS don't like this because the genre of game has nothing to do with MGS. Yes i understand that's why they called it rising instead of solid but even so to me it seems they are taking advantage of the name of the series when it has nothing to do with previous games. I have nothing against the game per se but I am not really a big fan of hack n' slash and i think they shouldn't have used metal gear name.
@Judeuduarte @Outer_Raven I'm glad you recognize that this game is not relative to the MGS series. Many people who have bashed this title have failed to understand that. However, I am a bit confused as to why you would have a problem with them using the Metal Gear name, especially since Raiden is the main character. It is worthy of the "Metal Gear" name for that reason. Do I wish it was Gray Fox instead of Raiden? Absolutely, however I think the name suits it just fine given the situation and role that Raiden has played in the series overall. Give it a chance, you may be pleasantly surprised.
@Nightrunner0007 @Judeuduarte @Outer_Raven I'm just not too keen on its over the top action it has, metal gear always had a sense of believability to it in some ways and it just feels odd for a MG title. I played it and somewhat enjoyed it but, not as much as the original MGS series more so because of how cliche it was.
@Judeuduarte @Outer_Raven Just simply stay away from it. I never bought metal gear but will pick up this one and it's likely to draw me to the overall series as well. I think this was their intention to broader the fanbase.
