Here's an 18-minute walkthrough video showcasing and explaining the new Contracts multiplayer-mode in Hitman: Absolution.
Great Series, played the Sniper Challenge and it´s amazing, just minutes playing it were awesome, (and still has replayability)... I can tell that Absolution sticks to the concept of Hitman but with vast improvements... One of the few developers that doesn´t focus only on selling, selling, selling... but actually making a good, replayable experience for us gamers... Can´t wait for the game
This game is the only game I vouch for because even though it looks like their taking the franchise in a different direction with new game mechanics but still keep the same concept of what the game is
I still say the original Hitman: Codename 47 I think was the title for PC is still hands-down one of the best games Ive ever played. You could re-create the Godfather restauant shootout scene. The two targets are already at the table when you arrive. You can either go in guns blazing through the front door or blast em through the front window or you can sneak in the bathroom window and come out of the bathroom with guns blazin' I must have played that hit over a hundred times and it played out differently every time. FAN-FRIGGIN'-TASTIC!!
Cant wait fer my copy!! Pre ordered , a couple of days after the PS3 box art cover was released!! :) :D
I'm glad they didn't include any unnecessary multiplayer elements that's been plaguing in today's single player only games. Can't wait to play the 5th game in the Hitman series..=D
Very interesting way to play the game. Good to know they listened to the fan's feedback.
I love the close- silent-execution with the gun... Very nice touch.
PLEASE GIVE AN OPTION TO TAKE OFF ALL HUD ELEMENTS!! I love hitman too much for it to being ruined by all that clutter on the screen!!
@scarred_fox I pre-ordered my PC version a few months ago.
@scarred_fox it's available for preorder via steam.
@scarred_fox @Trozzbozz Atleast here in Sweden you could pre-order hard copies since a while back. *Source* http://www.discshop.se/spel/pc/hitman_absolution_nordic_edition/P92253
oh man, I love that minute long, unskippable IE9 ad. Gamespot knows this, that's why they play it before I watch every video.
i only wish we dont have to be online to play this i love the hitman franchise and this feature but pleeeeeaaaaaaaaassss dont make it online only. and also my GOTY for sure
Loved the reference in the Hitman movie when 47 came crashing in through the window - WTF that's the same guy on the Playstation?! haha classic. Now Absolution looks like it's going to be a Work of Art! Really well done guys, especially for getting Bateson back in, that was your master stroke cherry on top. GOTY for sure, if not GOTD? (Decade). Hurry up November!
o crap i forgot this was coming out. dangit. This bonus mode looks really interesting too. and these levels.... oh man they look so good. the dialogue and props. Good stuff
Whip out the fiberwire and syringes, looks like a whole ton of new targets for 47 to have fun with. I just hope there is truly many ways to take out your mark, mostly different eviromental ways, that would be great. Aside from that, this really looks good, cant wait for its release.
The problem with this "play to create" system is that the people out there that might be the best and most creative thinkers for creating a contract may not actually be good enough to pull it off themselves. This method might be cool, but it isn't really better than what they call a "cumbersome editor". Now I know that this has the positive effect of the contracts not being impossible, but there are other ways to handle that, like simple community review. Despite this, I am glad they at least have something in the game for community driven content, and I guess they deserve some credit for making it easily accessible on consoles, even though personally I don't care about consoles :).
@hystavito I liked the fact that creating a contract was basically just playing the game as an editor can be daunting to get into for some but it would benefit from an editor for those creative perfectionists who want to make precise, accurate and inventive ways of taking out targets, I also hope the creaing a contact mode has a rewind button or at least a self checkpointing system so not to make the process frustrating when things do not go as the player intended.
@JJB03 @hystavito I didn't even think of checkpoints, yes that seems almost necessary, but I'm thinking it does not have that. You are correct, without it then creating a difficult contract will be far more frustrating as it may require numerous replays of an entire level. If you start to look at with these points in mind, it's starts to look less like content creation and more like simple beat my score, so to speak.
i really cant wait for this..I've been playing all the previous hitman game again just to satisfy myself, but its not enough -_-
what this guy means when he talks about blood money and custom missions hes really talking about modders , so lets just hope he says thank you to those modders buy giving the PC version a nice set of mod tools with the game
I think this is the best Hitman game special with the contract mode @Charlie Grant
The game looks very good graphically speaking. I only hope the rest of the game will be as stunning. Having played the original Hitman, Silent Assassins and peaked a little bit at Contracts and Blood Money, I hope this one will be sufficiently fresh to rekindle my interest in the series.
This looks epic. It's both seamless but still beautiful, and keeps the planning portion of the series while inserting a more reactionary play-style....
Great, now Hitman has a tacked on multiplayer mode that folks will mess around with for a week and then never play again. Hitman has always been a single player game, why not focus all your resources on single player?
@deliman ya thats what ya'll said about ME3 and its still has a strong online community. So get pwed fool it will be sick
@Trinitarian i've never played me3, never said anything about it's multiplayer, never even knew it had a multiplayer mode 'till now.
and what does "pwed" mean?
@deliman Have you played the Hitman Sniper Challenge? If not I suggest you do, because Contracts will be somewhat like it, it's highly addictive, and I think it would change your opinion of contract mode.
