GameSpot Asia's Jonathan Toyad speaks with Hitman: Absolution's art director Roberto Marchesi about the game's art style and aesthetics, as well as some bits about Contracts mode.
Did you enjoy this video?
HITMAN = EPICAL

hopefully they'll fix the reloading animation,personally i cant stand when they dont actually put another clip in the gun
culture of death at its finest
Im still wondering how anyone could be offended; that at group of women were DISGUISED as nons. Maybe it's because Im danish... we are pretty hard to offend in general.
Lookin good :D
eh er i am not sure
"hyper realistic" .... has nuns in tight leather clothing with rocket launcher.
The art and style reminds me of Batman, Arkham City. Which isn't a bad thing! Well done IO Interactive, can't wait to dive into it! And thanks for getting Bateson back in :)
GS can't hire decent people to do interviews?!! sigh...
I really need to stop looking at these....
The game looks good though, I'm a little disappointed that the game is set only in America again, I was hoping to travel to Italy, Russia, Germany, Romania, Japan, China.....anywhere really....that was one thing I enjoyed about the older games but hey, if the story is good and it's enjoyable to play I won't be complaining.....
Just.....go international next time....
i abhor this guy's accent. can't stand it
The new cell-shaded look looks quite nice.....
the last game was already set mostly in America, why must this one too? that's why 'silent assassin' was the best. you went all over the globe.
...There isn't much art in blood splatters and mutilation.
The one and only TRUE assassin game!!
Assassins Creed needs more Hitman elements if u ask me.
Its awesome to explore and climb the cities and stuff, but the assassination missions itself were always a bit disappointing to me.
hitman returned strongly
tired of IE9 presentation....
am I the only one who would play these as "extremely tough shooters"? Almost always, my first approach would be kill every single person I find and then go through and do the mission objectives, unless they involved keeping someone alive.
Why all these questions to the developers about changing 47s look from GameSpot lately? Why would they? 47 is already a recognized symbol of bada$$ amongst fans and people who haven't even played these games. It would be stupid to tamper with that.
The only thing I hate about this game ..... is that its not in my hands at the moment
I like all the scars on him, lol. didn't see that before so you thought he was untouchable.
Art? Realy? there is no art in this game. It's just a copy of nowtdays with a bunch of twists. This game is all about killing.
thisgame bloody rocks!!!
gameplay looks really good and also graphically so detailed.
@SipahSalar See that in my neighborhood virtually everyday
@7h3_h4x3r ...nor they can get decent members for the site that will understand the person is a native English speaker and also from GS Asia....so shut up..
@MJ12-Conspiracy that is a bit disappointing but at least he says the levels will still offer a great deal of variation in setting from one another.
Wuuuuuuh? I think you need to fix your monitor.
Why does it even matter? As long as the missions are inventive and fun then who cares.
@tgwolf so you think
@tgwolf yes there is...
@brainiac1988 I'm gonna laugh my ass off if there's a portion in this game where you can kill a desmond/altair/ezio knockoff character...
@PcGamingRig Yeah, the scars are a nice touch, adds a bit of humanity to the character, which is good. All those scars tell a story in their own way, and it does show that while 47 is the best at what he does, it comes at not only a monetary price, but a physical and mental one as well. Can't wait to see this game in full on Nov. 20th!
@Fowsed art is something that has been thought up and created of course there is art in this game. it may be modern day but the feeling and look of each area is still different. not to mention the entire game has to be shaped and coded so that is art in itself.
What is that. Sweden?
Yeah. On you way to work or on the way home? :P
@DITHRICH Why are you playing the race card moron!!? I don't care what accent he has or how he speaks...I'm talkin at the stupid questions he asks...
@PcGamingRig @Fowsed What? So pencils are art?
A table is art? Everything is art....I really hope developers keep their head on straight and realize that they are making a product first and then worry about if its art or not. I'm tired of the artistic integrity crap
says butthurt bioware fan =(
@kingswede Norwegian is to be understood. Especially when spoken. Swedish is a little harder.
@Liferipper no im Swedish/Finnish actually. Or did you that if i understood norwegian? Yes i do, og dansk
Well, I can barly make out what you're writing. Skämt is sweden for joke, right. But you're for norwegian, right?
@Liferipper sorry mannen, menade det som ett skämt för att du skrev att du icke är easily offended :P nordisk humor !
@7h3_h4x3r right...you know those questions are only asked by him and are written by others?...nitwit, dont blame him, blame the writers of said questions...
@stan_boyd @MudPie210 @cavs25 @PcGamingRig @Fowsed
You're wrong. It was still art in that it was created by someone on a computer/design program.
You may not have enjoyed the particular style, or lack of detail, but it's still art.
That being said, this game looks amazing.
@MudPie210 @cavs25 @PcGamingRig @Fowsed thank you mudpie! everything in the game is art because it had to be made by some one. (a 3D artist). If you think any one could just hop into a 3-D program and create a fancy looking table and put it into a game engine, (let alone an accurate looking table) you have a lot to learn about the craft and the amount of skill it requires. And these environments for hitman look great. As if they were made by very skilled 3d artist.
@MudPie210 @cavs25 @PcGamingRig @Fowsed I gotta disagree, there was nothing artistic in Duke Nukem Forever, it was ugly, the gameplay sucked and the jokes (if you can call them that) were something only a 6 year old would find funny (ha ha I can throw poop) except that the game is rated A for Adult so a 6 year old shouldn't be playing it.
@cavs25 @PcGamingRig @Fowsed It requires artists to create these games and as a result every single game is a work of art, regardless of how good that game actually is.
