Harsh words....but at the same time I agree and I wish both the consoles had better specs after such a long 7th gen....I was expecting 2 powerhouse consoles and we didn't get that.

Really? North America is the largest continent if you don't count Asia and Africa. GM sells the most cars if you don't count Volkswagen or Toyota.

Cloud Imperium Games also doesn't give any advice to remedy the situation, just pointing out what they think is wrong.

Hahaha. Eric Peterson attempting to put himself on the map. He wants his own Wiki page and it's smart to sell this game to as many people as he can and this is one way to help his crowd-funded PC indie game see a boost in sales. Chris Roberts would approve. Either way, this game is running on 2009's older CryEngine 3...

Anyways, it's going to be a hot PC game with them having raised 46 million dollars in crow funding tabulated last month. People want Chris's PC game bad and this is the kind of PR that excites the demographic excited for the product, even if it's embellished.

I buy consoles for games not graphics. Sure nicer graphics are good to look at but they come second. Now that most AAA gaming is dying to give place to indies hardware doesnt matter much anyway

I kind of lost faith in the spirit of Bungie after Marcus Lehto, Shishka, Frankie and Joseph Staten left and Marty got fired as well as the other veterans. It's not really the Bungie I knew and loved anymore. Just some studio that left Microsoft to bravely push boundaries by making more sci-fi shooter under a different banner

The only way for the console to have been close to high end pc power would have been larger consoles which would turn off many, selling way below cost and or much higher price. The main thing though is that it's a big upgrade for console only players. About the same upgrade as it was going from PS 2 to PS 3.

It is still Bungie, just because Bungie has always been a studio of more that just a handful of people (over 500 employees now). Though the firing of O'Donnell is troublesome.

Graphics wouldn't be at the top of my list for reasons the're fail; it's up there though behind lack of games. That and no backwards compatibility so you're likely to end up buying you're favorite games multiple times.

Consoles are good for some things like couch co-op and streaming media. Most people end up with one to play the few exclusives that come out; or JRPGs.

Who needs backwards compatibility when you can keep you old consoles?

I don't see why people are making such a big deal about PC's being stronger than consoles this gen. Its always been that way, nothing has changed

I hear ya, but I wasn't expecting power house. I knew neither Sony or MS wanted to sell at a massive loss out the gate this gen ala PS3. The business pages were actually saying this for over a year before launch. Its one reason I jumped into PC gaming.

Wait, but those same low graphics options cant be applied to consoles? Then why say they cant run it? Again, this is Crysis all over again. PC devs cattering to their main market with PR bullshit. This is no different than when Quantic Dream said Heavy Rain couldnt run on the 360.

@chikenfriedrice: To be honest I would have been fine with a $600 PS4 that had an extra $200 worth of upgraded hardware. I really didn't expect much for $400.

Anyways, if next gen consloes are as pc like as xbone/ps4 then backwards compatibility should be a given.

The consoles are watered down pcs, this isn't news. Crap hardware produces crap performance. Alot of DC in this thread for some guy stating the truth. These consoles are already making compromises in FPS and resolution to make games look pretty. It will happen all gen long.

PC always had better hardware and always will have because it is upgradable . Same was the case every gen before this one . So what makes butthurts in this thread believe that this time the case will be different , specially when hardware in PS4/X1 was already outdated , before being released .

Both consoles have outdated hardware and both of them are struggling to run the games at high settings 1080p/60fps . It's fact , not an opinion . If you can't face it then don't read about it . I wish both consoles were at least 2x more powerful than what they are ATM .

I guess I should throw my PC away then, because it only just about matches the PS4 in GPU performance...

What a lot of people fail to state though is how much money you need to spend to build significantly faster PC (lets say 20% better to match the optimisations that can be done for consoles), we are not just talking about the GPU, the whole thing with components that will last at least 5 years (no cheap PSU), plus you have to take the time to build the thing yourself, unless you want to pay someone else to do it for you.
