@lostrib: They were using an xbox controller and the video supports full hd. No doubt it's a PC footage.
And now for the debate on what platform it's on
I can tell you that's not Tress/Hairworks going on. The footage is probably PC high(i.e. PS4+).
@jhonMalcovich: ah, so now for the debate on settings :P
Nope. High settings. CDPR already said they'll save ultra for players to see themselves
Ign's video compression makes the game look bad though. Even setting the video at hd doesn't remove bluriness.
Save games from first two games are ready to be imported! Will be interesting to see if Redania is still the only Northern Kingdom left in my saves like this gameplay footage.

Every footage shown till this day was on PC (except E3 2014 Xbox conference target render).

shhhh, they have to debate the downgrade still
Best on the VITA my friend
As an open world rpg, the game looks amazing. You can see how huge is the world if you need a horse to move between location and there is no loading screens. Amount of vegetation alone makes this game most technologically advanced and demanding. I had only seen the same amount of vegetation in Skyrim but with special hardware-demanding mods. The game looks like some sort of medieval GTA with horses.
But really lame beginning story-wise.
@da_illest101 xbox one version wouldn't scale to full hd. It's a PC version played with an xbox controller.

possibly, I never tried gaming on pc with xbox one controler so I don't know if the control change or not.
Video's heavily compressed, hard to make out details. Going media blackout now, just waiting for delivery!
The Order looks better.
In terms of attention to detail sure, but Wild hunt is also an open world game with no black bars and not a disgusting amount of post processing to hide imperfections. The order isn't a metric for anything, not even graphics.
It's a grey mess with a dash of chromatic aberration and the other usual bad effects.

When you game with an xbox controller (one/360) on PC, button prompts are switched from PC's keyboard/mouse keys to the xbox controller buttons.
The Order looks better.
The Order is also a linear QTE thing. I know thats a well established fact around here, but it's just the truth.
Pillars of Eternity kinda spoilt me storywise. When I saw that billboard with quests on the video I was like "hmmm what , no dialogs, no pages of well-written lore stories ? Only one paragraph describing the task?" After Pillars of Eternity's quality of side quests, it will be really hard to return back to MMO-ish tasks/side quests. This is my only concern about the game.
Will get it in any case because nothing good is scheduled for this year except for Batman and Torment: Tides of Numenera.
The Order looks better.
Graphics are more than just pretty rooms. And can we discuss the story for once?
Any reason there was next to no background music in that 15 minutes of gameplay? I hope it's not one of those things where they've left out the music simply to make it more atmospheric or some silly reasoning like that.

All i'm sayin' is, my bro Roche better be back. Wouldn't mind seeing Iorveth either.

My guess is clyde46 is getting a dig in at the cow trolls before they invade the thread
On topic,
Looks like it's going to be a great game :)

No.
Wow. So mature.

Both Iorveth and Roche are confirmed for Witcher 3. I prefer Iorveth though. Roche is also charming, I like the way he gets angry at everyone. World map also showed Dragon Symbol on lower right corner. Saskia?

Stuff Iorveth and Roche, I want more Ves ;)
@clyde46:
Now I know you're either on drugs or from the UK since that's the only people I've met who know what Red Dwarf is. :P
Holy shit....Geralt has a fault. He had a bad dream which humanizes him. Hot dam...I might finally feel some sort on connection to the main character instead of "This guy is a fucking pretentious tool."
The combat was kinda odd. Why would the person playing the game in the video dodge after striking a wold or human with 2 hits? Thats what I didn't like about TW2 combat....it was shit. It just doesn't occur to me to dodge after you strike a blow in combat.
How anyone can tell what the graphics look like is beyond me....that 1080p video was awful. It looked like it was in 30fps though....so it might be the X1 version.
It looks dull and of course we have the usual mindless hack and slash Witcher action for the 'don't think just whack it' generation. The story needs to be good and probably will be. Dialogue interaction for the opening segment was painful to sit through though, I'm sure it will get better than that at some point.
Personally I still can't fully invest myself in 'being' Geraldt. He is just dull. First impressions it's Witcher 2 same graphics higher res better textures (I'm guessing it will be, that video looked terrible) and same completely throwaway combat.
Did anyone else find the lip syncing and character acting bad?
Their lips hardly moved and at the beginning Garalt shrugged his shoulders while he asked a question. Shrugging your shoulders means "I dunno".
That makes no sense....it feels out of place and like he was answering his own question that he asked out loud to another person.
Game looks fantastic. Downgrade or not, it's easily the best looking RPG on the market, and I doubt it'll be topped anytime soon.
As for the storytelling and music...I'm not worried. The series has always delivered on those fronts, and it looks like this video actually skipped the intro.

I think the Witcher 3 will do some things much better visually like character models but The Wither 2 has the advantage of being on a much smaller scale.
Here are some screens I took of The Witcher 2 completely maxed at 1440p with ubersampling on.
Can't wait to play The Witcher 3 at 1440p and 60fps at ultra settings while consoles have to deal with medium settings and 1080p or 900p at 30fps.
This game looks just as dull and lifeless as The Witcher 2, which I tried to play but ultimately quit because it didn't maintain my interest. The combat is uninspired; I experienced no gratification whenever I sliced or punctured an enemy with my sword, whereas every blow or kick in RockSteady's Batman games or every slice of my clever or slam of my hammer in From Software's Bloodborne is satisfying. Even the voice acting of the Witcher 2 is bland; all of the game's characters speak with a flat, emotionless tone. This game, based on these fifteen minutes of footage, is going to suck just as hard as its predecessor. 1/10.
