DEAD SPACE 2

instead of doing certain objectives and finishing games on harder difficulties to unlock costumes, game developers now make you pay if you want them.
damn it KONAMI.
I'll hear all about it when the Jimquisition comes out.

Techno has no horror games to play this month. Techno would probably ditch it 10 minutes in to play more Fire Emblem anyway like he has been for the past month with bits of The Last of Us MP sprinkled here and there. Machete to the face here, a shanking there, a few shottie lobotamies. It's like a horror game already, except you're the bad guy if you're good at the game!
All the same, stop playing The Evil Within once you hit Ch. 11 and pretend you beat the game. It's better that way.

Charging for costumes is more a #fuckdevelopers than a #fuckonami, albeit one that's pretty damn low on my list on priorities. I mean, hey, it's nice of them to do, but it's not something they ever had to do, free or not.
This, this sounds more like a #fuckonami. :p
I was really bored yesterday so I decided to go buy games. Was going to buy both MGS V and Super Mario Maker but found that I'm fairly busy lately so I could only have time for one. Decided to buy Super Mario Maker since MGS V will hopefully drop in price by the holidays or something.
Weirdly enough I never was a fan of 2D Mario, but I saw some really awesome stages online so I decided why not? So far some of the user stages have been fairly hard for me. The ones I played are pretty fair, but man I have gotten much worse at 2D Mario. Haven't played one in years, so I'm not used to the physics.
I find the (new) DKC games to be more my speed so far. I have played them for longer though so I should be able to get used to it.
@davillain-: Sounds good. I read its got a NG+, and it offers a good challenge.
Dead Space is fantastic, I never got around playing 3. Did try the demo, jumped a couple of times.
@Blabadon: If its half as good as either of those games, then I'm in for a treat.
What do you think of the new Fatal Frame game? It can be a spooky game.

Holly mother of God, I just noticing the reply/quote/flag buttons have been change! I see they got the up-voting back from the articles comment section. Gamespot is making some progress here but still got a long ways to go being perfect again.
Good: Not having to mouse over a post just to see the quote button.
Bad: Putting said button at the very end of a post and aligned left just like sigs. It blends in a bit because of the alignment and lack of color, making it harder to see. This also makes my brain think the quote button quotes everything, sigs included, because the way it's aligned makes it part of the sig. >.>

That part where the player couldn't find the door...I bet Derrick was playing. >:[
Ribbing aside, looks a little janky (What is it with horror games and jank?) but looks good nonetheless. Also reminds me that I never finished the second game despite liking what I played, meaning I actually have a horror game to play this month if I can put my 3DS down for a second!
Been working on some web development on my off time lately, and I could certainly attempt to fix up some of the weirdness of this site, especially on the front-end side. Too bad I'm still figuring out about the back-end side (not nearly as easy to self teach as front-end), so not a huge amount of help there (big fan of the older but well documented Rails so far). A pretty important part for an interactive site since both ends meld together for user-based sites such as this, but it will come to me sooner or later.
Always one of the things that takes the longest: trying to figure out what devs before you did and implementing on top of it or erasing it when new apps are wanted, but that gives you a whole can of worms when compatibilities start to become incompatible due to said deletions and changes. By that point it normally needs a good reboot, but too bad time is money.
Of course I'm no career dev, so I'm just spouting right now lol. Never worked on a site this complex in my life. I find this stuff fascinating though.
Have you played SOMA? It came out on Steam/PS4 not too long ago, and it's apparently a horror game from the makers of Amnesia. I haven't gotten to it yet, but I've heard good things.
Haven't played it, no. I'd like to. Liked Amnesia, am sure I'd like that. To repeat myself though, I'd need to put my 3DS down first -- and I've been on it for a good month! lol
I, uh, may have a problem. >.>
@darkspineslayer: Yes they do. WP is not nearly as flexible as HTML5 imo. I could go into specifics, but to make a long story short... "coding by scratch" usually makes pages faster and more responsive then using fairly overloaded pieces that you throw together. It also helps that I tend to make static sites that don't need a huge amount of updating.
Admittedly though I do use jQuery, Bootstrap at times, and some other "shortcuts" so it's not like I'm all that pure either lol.
@AznbkdX: Makes sense. I've been learning about website creation from a journalistic perspective, where it's key to have simple to use, quick systems where a lot of people can push content to. Wordpress is pretty industry standard in that respect, and easy enough to build yourself if you're a freelancer with coding knowledge that might include basic style sheets.
@darkspineslayer: Yep. I'm no real expert in WP myself, but I have heard it's great for blogs.
I honestly almost forgot about it until you brought it up. I have a fairly decent coding background so HTML5/Javascript/Ruby/etc. is more my speed.
My job has very little coding involved and is mostly into IT admin duties, so I do lots of practice out of my own volition. I'll probably play with WP more now that you mention it lol.

Here's footage of this game
Got some gifs of me playing some Star Wars Battlefront 3 Beta gameplay during the head start session: http://i.imgur.com/5ysPYIi.gifv
Listening to some of the best soundtracks produced on the sega genesis which is Micheal Jackson moonwalker. It's like the soundtrack of this game gives me energy. Lol
Reverse grinding: Making optional battles so hard, you end up playing through the main game which is already hard enough. What was the damn point, you sick bastards?! ;-;
I really like the fact that you pretty much have to earn everything in Nohr.
Haha. I haven't been playing a whole lot lately on anything so I guess I have the opposite problem! What 3DS games have you been into?
Fire Emblem: Fates and...wait, that's it.

After staring at Randy Orton for a good minute, I started thinking: Given how flat the terrain is, couldn't they have sent tanks or something instead of walkers? Those AT-AT's don't look like they sink even half a foot into the snow when they fall. >:\
I have to write a story for a quiz today and I'm all out of ideas. Anyone have an interesting story? Need plot, setting characters etc to be interesting and entertaining and well organised and told.
Appreciate any help thanks.
@doomsdayplay: Welcome to the lounge. Think of it like a little off topic bubble here on System Wars. Just don't get too rowdy and avoid heated subjects like politics and you're good.

A lady adorned in a silk flower china dress with a face as pale the moon moves with an ethereal grace at wits against the crowded chaotic flea market that buzzes around her. She hovers to an unremarkable stall owned by a a crooked little man who consumes ignorance as currency; she was an easy mark. Politely, timidly she presents a watch, explaining that it is broken. In an outburst rehearsed as to become commonality the dealer abruptly, breaks into speech ending with a puncturing "no redounds", before sending her on her way. Bowing with gentility she graciously shakes his hands before dimming into flurry of mass. As the dealer looks down, to his dismay, his wrist is bare, his own watch is gone.
da end.
Man Catherine pissed me off quite a bit...
It gets really cheap a few times, interesting game though.
Catherine isnt even that good. It's a game that gets a better rep because it's Atlus/Japan.
Play a real puzzle game. Like the ones made in the West (Swapper, Talos Principle, Antichamber etc)
But, like, Illya, those games ain't even e-Sports. :V
For real though, I had more fun watching competitive Catherine (and sitting through the narrative) than I did playing through the game. :T Puzzles and time limits don't exactly mesh well together, especially ones with death traps nearly every step.

Yeah it's not good, but it was worth a play through anyway.
I've seen the swapper's gameplay, it looked interesting.
I just realized the Plague Knight add on is out. Been so caught up in MGSV I didn't even know, so that was a nice surprise. The mechanics feel a bit weird at first, but I'm getting the hang of it.
Playing FOB missions in MGSV. The AI has even better vision than the main game WTF. Also I've been very successful in every infiltration mission but there is nothing to steal lol.
man I've been up for nearly 2 days straight just writing query after query putting up data from like 10 different universities on a cloud based database and at this very moment I feel like I'm gonna collapse. Thank god I'll have nothing to do for the weekend... I hope there's some swell so I can go on a surftrip with friends.
Or not, it's gonna be flat =/

Take a break anyway, ma, it sounds like you have earned it.
Are they charging $60 for that Transformers game?
How dare you poop on the Platinum Games circlejerk.
