The main argument we've been having is, is computer gaming one platform or multiple platforms. And that image clearly shows mac, linux and windows/pc being considered separate platforms.

Notice how this very websites computer forum isn't called "computer gaming discussing" or "pc gaming discussion", it's called "pc and mac discussion". Maybe they should rename it to windows and mac discussion, I would get a kick out of them going through the trouble of doing that.

Notice in the pic below it lists pc, mac and linux in the drop down. Consolites are pc gamers too since they game on their personal consoles.

That isn;'t the "platform" category. its the "OS" Catergory. because... as I've been trying to get into your skull... an OS is but one component of a computer, and MY computer runs all three of them whenever I choose. I don't have to go out and by another system to run any of them... with the consoles you do.

your logic is just childish.. it basically boils dwn to "any electrical device is a computer, because... it computes" ....

Consoles are computers designed for individual use so technically they are pc's

It doesn't bother me. I can comment without be bothered by something. There aren't any prerequisites for posting.

The better question, is why should we care? This forum will continue to work how it has for the last 10 years, and not much is gonna change that. Just a general glance at your posts, would mean bringing an inordinate amount of new rules in for comparison... It's simply PC versus consoles.

My bad, I should have clarified further. You can compare them to a singular console. I've seen a number of Lems/Cows compare their own system to the PC in a fruitless battle. The blame isn't one-sided.

Still, this argument has proven a huge waste of time, considering nothing is going to change.

@bldgirsh: what do your screens say that mine don't. Both sets of screens show valve sees pc as synonymous with windows and they consider computer gaming to consist of multiple platforms.

Actually, the mods are decent. I made a post notifying a bunch of threads on the rules of SW, because Cranler wouldn't... But the notification system started to glitch. It's still not up.

They're not perfect, but they do deal with a lot of shit in the mod queue. Still, what we see as threads not being allowed, may not always be correct.
