SMG2 Vs MGS4

Think about it SMG2 and MGS4 are the best games this gen.Which one do u think u had the most fun with. Which You think is better they both got 10.0.

smg2 is the better game since it got a 10 years after mgs4. requierment for a 10 increase in time (according to a gamespot reviewer's commetn on singularity.)

tho it all depends on taste for me mgs seems to be a better game than mario 2, imo u cant even compare the 2 they are worlds apart

SMG2 is the game of the gen. MGS4 is stillso great in every way though. MGS4's story is great, although it could have been told in half the time. That would have been appreciated.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is best game this gen

my list of best games is up to 20 so far this gen w even more runner ups

most are on wii and ps3 s upcoming line up some are from 360s early years,

To put it simply:

SMG2 will be remembered as one of the greatest games this gen.

MGS4 will be remembered as one of the greatest games of all time.

You really think so? lol... No, MGS4 is more realistic than SMG2, history tells us that... surprise, the artistic games age much better than their realistic counterparts.

Uncharted 2 is going to look like crap in 10 years, while stuff like Zelda WW and SMG will age much better.

And that is just graphics, I'm willing to bet that the gameplay is going to age better aswell. Compare it with SMB3 on NES, there are only a few modern 2D platformers that are on par with the controls in that game, most of them are from Nintendo ofc

Games are remembered for how great they were in their time. Not how well they aged. OoT aged pretty bad, same with Goldeneye yet people still consider them some of the best games they ever played.

Neither are the best games this gen, imo. But SMG2 having spent time with it. MGS4 has terrible writing. No other game could get away with that.

I didn't care for SM64 or Sunshine. I don't even really care for the 2D Mario games. Yet, apparently the reason I love Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, is because of my nostalgia of the other games :lol:

smg2. i wanted to hurt myself by the end of act 2 in mgs4. thats how bad the writing, dialogue and voice acting was.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 has more gameplay than Metal Gear Solid 4.

IMO MGS4 is not a 10. SMG2 is.

For some reason, I feel guilty when comparing these 2 games. It's basically a stealth game versus a platformer game. There's not really much to compare and contrast. The only trait in common is that they received a 10 on Gamespot. Other than that, it is just which game the person enjoyed more, granted they played both to make that decision.

To stay on topic, I guess I would have to go with Super Mario Galaxy 2 because the gameplay lasted much longer than Metal Gear Solid 4. I do not have anything against Metal Gear Solid 4, but to me, the game felt like it was forcing itself on me. I think Metal Gear Solid 4 is alright, but not fantastically superb.

SMG and MGS balance each other out, but MGS4 beats SMG2 by a factor of 2.

I thought both were extremely overrated and as games I didn't enjoy them as much. They both had a been there done that feeling. The improvment in productions values was only a small bonus.
