SMG2 Vs MGS4

Think about it SMG2 and MGS4 are the best games this gen.Which one do u think u had the most fun with. Which You think is better they both got 10.0.

They are not the best games this gen, the best game is down to opinion. Some people can easily argue that ME2 is the best game this gen.

That being said, I feel that SMG2 is better than MGS4.

P.S- What is MSG4? Is it a game where you spray flavour enhancers at people until they are poisioned?

They aren't the best games this gen. It just so happened they were the only exclusives to get a ten on this website.

i like GTA4 better than both. that got a 10 too

MGS4 is the more complete game, IMO. Plus the fact it was different to the other MGS games, whereas SMG2 was more of the same as the 1st.

both games clearly deserved its 10 imo, but in order for you to fully enjoy and understand why MGS4 is a great game, you would have to play its predecessors, while mario galaxy 2 is pure gameplay at its core, so i easily choose SMG2

SMG was my favorite game this gen. Until SMG 2 came out. MGS4 is still an amazing game though.

Gamerankings and Metacritic will tell you which is more deserving.

For me, easily MGS4. I loved everything about it., awesome end to a legend.

As for SMG2, I just can't get into either of the 3D Mario games. They were very boring to me.

I'd take MGS4 but SMG2 is a very very spectacular game.

I didn't care for SM64 or Sunshine. I don't even really care for the 2D Mario games. Yet, apparently the reason I love Super Mario Galaxy 1&2, is because of my nostalgia of the other games :lol:

Im not saying i didnt like MGS4 (I love the Metal Gear), but just take a look at my sig, and you will know which game i think is better.

But IMO Oblivion, Fable 2, Forza 3, MLB The Show, GeOW, are all better games.

its funny because you made my choice even easier now, mario galaxy 2 has more epic gameplay elements, better soundtrack, great graphics and a better art direction, the overall design of the game is alot better. You might get a point for story in MGS4, but then you would lose it because of the confusing and bad way to tell the story.

so your right it really comes down to preference, but dont think your opinion is better, even if you havent played mario galaxy 2

It's the hypocrysy that kills me in this place , if anything MGS4 had more of a nastalgia factor that helped with it's score. I mean who could pick up MSG4 and have any clue about the story? or anything else (without having played the previous games) , yet anyone could never have played a Mario game and love SMG2. Yet leave it to a cow to reason like that.

but MGS just blows just about any game out of the water IMO

We are not saying its sux but some people prefer the classic 2D Mario games like me.

Well to be quite honest I don't see how either game received a 10. However SMG2 was 50 times more fun, and interesting to play than MGS4.

They are pretty different and not just in genres. One is the most gamiest game (mario) the other is trying to emulate a movie. I love both tho

To put it simply:

SMG2 will be remembered as one of the greatest games this gen.

MGS4 will be remembered as one of the greatest games of all time.

demons souls is the best game this gen. out of the two, ill take mgs4 anyday over smg2

Um why does a game need a story to be better? Mario Galaxy is a game in the finest sense with wonderful enviroments. A game like Half Life 2 is great because it tells a story without a cutscene and usually without scripted events. It tells the story through the enviroments and charectars. The City 17 Citadel building over the Eastern Block houses shows the humans are under oppresion from the combine but are quite naive of what they are or who they are
