Wow er that quite a interesting turn of events.:|
And haters have reached a new low. Why am I not surprised? :(
lol, they sure have. this mega hater shii right here.
@bldgirsh: @farrell2k: @WilliamRLBaker Good to see this thread bringing out SW 's most idiotic group of users.
PSN is really a piece of shit. I don't understand why they started charging for it when there's no improvements at all. Don't be surprised if one day your PSN IDs, digital content, digital purchases all gets deleted and unretrievable, and Sony will only give you a couple games back as a sorry.

They just started charging for it this new gen. It takes time to make improvements on things, most things dont just improve overnight. Also, PS3 was only hacked once, it wasnt like it was being hacked constantly or anything.

Because they could.
@tymeservesfate: My friend was telling me about this. It's ridiculous what levels of stupidity these clowns can reach.

might as well try to cash in on it like your competitors. PSN is total trash though. The only benefit of it is sony does give away some decent deals and discounts on games.
saying that, after all the bullshit that went down when PSN went down on ps3 you'd think sony would have a much better system to protect them against this. Idiots.

yea, i dont think anyone thought it would go this far. sucks...hope its not down too long for you guys.

Oh man...you really drank the Sony Kool-Aid. PSN was down for THREE WEEKS back in 2011. Online only games came and went. Sony got fucking sued in a class action lawsuit and had to pay out $15 million dollars in damages...yet...here you are defending their lack of security on PSN. Brilliant.
They've had years to fix their security flaws and still can't. It's pathetic. Sony is a multinational conglomerate and they can't even secure their beloved online platform against an amateurish hacking group.

My mistake! That makes it much better! /s
@mikhail: For some reason Cows in general feel it's okay to have a major security breach as long as MS had a few breaches 1st....
I just don't understand why they attack video gamers.

I have no idea whether or not this is the reason, but it seems to line up with their Twitter feed and all of their "kaffar/kafir" rhetoric.
I've never heard of this group and they may just be anon-type hackers trying to spoof ME hackers, but like I said, these links seem to be supported by their twitter.
@mikhail: This isn't a security flaw. What the hell are you even rambling about?
Microsoft is also under attack an having problems, among others.
The group behind these attacks are stupid. They say they are trying to prove a point to Sony? How exactly is this proving a point to Sony or league of legends, or blizzard? All they're doing is pissing people off on a weekend. If they have a problem with Sony, they should take it out on Sony. Not the people using Sonys services.
@Bishop1310: PSN is trash? I'd take it over Battlenet or LOL servers any day and no XBL isn't any better.
You're right dude, the company that writes security software for the US government has nothing on Sony. The company that owns a Multi-billion dollar cloud service can't touch Sony... Why do I even come here?
I just don't understand why they attack video gamers.

That doesn't seem like the reason. They have been attacking Battle.net, League of Legends, MS, runescape, guild wars 2, and others all week
i'm not having an issue at all. just played 5 straight hours of dragons crown online without a hitch...

Ok...
Have you followed the link to their twitter in the tc's original post?
It's not like they would not attack MS for similar reasons, and the attacks on the other gaming networks are likely intended to spite gamers in an effort to draw attention to their "cause."
This seems like something more than the trolling attacks of fanboys, but maybe that's just me.

@Animal-Mother: the $500 was my choice . The ass raping Sony gives isn't a choice at all. Hence the definition of rape.
The plane John Smedley was in had to be diverted because the group called in an alert on the aircraft. Poor guy

Because taking down PSN isn't going to bring awareness already?
They been hitting networks all week.
They are trying to making press on the biggest one they brought down.
Doing a Distributed Denial of Service attack is not hacking. What happened to the PS3 a few years ago was hacking. You kids should get your facts straight on that.
Also, anyone is suceptible to a DoS attack. It's amazing the amount of cluelessness that is hanging around here. Crazy.

No, because they seem to have an axe to grind with MS as well; for likely similar reasons.
I know that they've been hitting other gaming networks throughout the week, likely for the reasons I already explained.
I agree that they're trying to make press, but it's unclear as to whether they are who they claim, or just Western/non middle eastern hackers spoofing ME hackers in an effort to just troll gamers and the world in general.
The bomb threat seems to suggest that they are who they claim and that they are not terribly concerned with being rounded up by the U.S. government any time soon.

Thanks for the clarification angry bold guy. I doubt that any of us were aware of this. /s
The term, "hackers" is being used colloquially to describe an apparent hacking group who, like Anonymous, have some hackers within their ranks that likely secured the botnets performing the DDoS attacks in addition to acquiring that poor bastard from Las Vegas' contact information, but it's good to have someone around to ignore this obvious fact while screaming in bold.
This could easily be the quietest day on the forums. Look at all of these short replies. The Sony bots seem to be mostly offline. Hey guys, we might actually be able to have an Xbox thread in the XBOX FORUM thats not over run by psychotic Sony fans.
@b4x: Last time i checked XBL has been hacked before as well it's down just as much I know I've been a member since 2005. The delusional that think XBL is better then PSN is hillarious at this point. It was for awhile but over the past 3 years they have been about the same.

PSN is a turd. I couldn't believe how awful it was when I bought a PS3 after having a 360 for years. I've always joked that Sony's server sits in the Janitors closet in Japan, one dude goes in every month or so, shuts it down, uses a compressed air can to blow the dust away from the beast Pentium 3 1.4GHz, lovingly reseats each of the two 128mb ram sticks, boots it up, defrags the hard drive and is always confused by the lack of Windows updates. He then clicks the "PSN" icon and takes down the maintenance page. Takes a shit, and goes home.
LizardSquad says his name is Brian Willson from Las Vegas and that he doesn't fear the FBI because they don't have evidence. I guess he forgot that he made a plane bomb threat, court won't think of that lightly. It's jail time for him.
There's another guy named FamedGod that claims he's the one behind the DDoS attack, his identity has also been revealed.
What's up with these people? What are they trying to prove? They're quite pathetic if you ask me. All for their 15 minutes of fame?
