@FoxbatAlpha: I've been a long-time lurker on these forums, among others (it helps kill a day at the office), and you have to be one of the more ridiculous posters on these boards. If history is any indication, and we've seen it three console generations in a row, Sony will no doubt provide a steady stream of excellent, varied exclusive titles.
To answer the OP, I don't think the PS4 will reach the same heights as the PS2. The PS2 had very little competition (an underwhelming Gamecube and the first entry into consoles by MS) during its time of dominance. It received a ton of exclusives due to its market share that are now multi-platform titles. It was both the hardcore and casual console of choice. Today it has the Xbone to compete with, as well as tablets, phones, (lol) WiiU and a much more approachable PC ecosystem due to Steam.
That being said, I won't say it's impossible because the gaming market has only grown since them, but I do think it's improbable.
