I don't get it. It may have flopped slightly, but an 8.0 is good.TheOddQuantum
Didn't you get the memo? Any game that scores below 9 is crap, so are games that don't have stupid amounts of gore and unrealistic dialouge and shallow gameplay.

Oh right yeah the whole "We're moving the scale up. There are now only numbers from 6-10, so we don't annoy anyone."
Well, that's a flop, I guess that means I'm automatically owned as I'm a Hermit. It's in Too Human's large shadow though, perhaps the hermits could get away with this with a few scratches.
It dosen't matter though, Hermit's shouldn't care about what faction is "owned" on something as trivial as a video game forum, this is a great game, that Hermit's, and even console players can enjoy (due to low system requirements), despite all the "lawlz", "owned" and silly finger pointing, that's all that matters.
What is up with Gamespots reviews? I don't trust GS anymore. Millennium_King
kevin did it ... dont read the review, or pay attention to the score.

Nice try and sidestepping the ownage.... which is a bigger flop between Spore & Too Human, is debatable.... Too Human score is quite a bit lower, but then, Too Human wasn't hyped nearly as much or by as many people, as Spore was.
Still I plan on getting this game at some point, as do I plan on buying Too Human at some point.... but Spore first.
And the next game to flop issss......STAR WARS: TFUBelAir1
That game isn't even hyped :| and I think most people wouldn't even expect good reviews from it in the first place. Probably around the A range.
Regarding Spore however, I am quite surprised. I had no intention of getting it though, and still don't, so it doesn't really effect me.
According to the review, the biggest problem for Spore is the lack of deep gameplay. I thought pc gamers always toss about having the deepest gameplay of all gaming systems. Anyway, this just means that Spore will be served as a great game for both hardcores and casuals. :)hoplayletsplayI personally think the hype was pre mature myself, as I knew that Maxis wouldn't create an incrededibly deep game, as the last thing they would want to do is alienate the millions and milions of Sims players.
On a side note, this wasn't going to be the best game ever after all these years...... the peak of the hype was GOTY and a few speculated AAAA due to MGS4 and GTA4 getting 10's. I've never seen any game, let alone spore, hyped to be "best game ever after all these years".
Seems like a lot of games have been flopping lately...SpinoRaptor
Ladies and gentlemen, hardass Gamespot is back.

Sidestepping ownage?
Why would I try to attempt to sidestep something I don't even care about? System wars is essentially a fun meta game, it's all light hearted, I acknowledged that I was owned anyway, what's the deal?
Too Human and Spore is debatable, my actual point was, that people haven't got over Too Human, so this could go undetected amidst the fallout of the Too Human review

The Sims is better than Spore! There I said it. The Sims actually has a very deep gameplay compare to all the games out there, there are just so many things that you can do in the Sims at the same time. I knew Spore won't be executed as fantastic as the Sims, but it could and it may.
