I've never really been interested in Spore, but i did expect it to score a bit higher with the way people were going on about it.

At least it still got a good score.:)

Harsh... harsh.... REALLY harsh.

Why?

Because a game like GeOW, that reeks mediocrities in areas gets 9.6 and Spore gets 8, even though its impossible to put it on the same level of it, in terms of design, innovation. And both cater towards casual gamers.

If anything in a comparison like the above I feel the game is a little robbed.

However none the less 8 is a great score and its a great game.

wtf man. maybe the game isn't as cracked out as it was meant to be. mgs4 doesnt have boobs and gore and is definitely not flashy enough for a casual audience, it still managed to get 10.

I think Spore is an amazing game but we have to make the flop confirmed comments lol.

wait, I thought all I heard all year was Spore = GOTY........it will beat down LBP to the point it flops.

Now it seems the opposite is going to happen, LBP could get AAA while Spore = the almighty flop.

Im just commenting on how titles that lack creativity and design innovation almost always destroy games that don't at all in many scores.

wow, it's like the exact thing lems were saying when Too Human flopped. Trying to be innovative does not mean it will get AAA. Why can't people undersand this.

8.0 is not a bad score per se however it goes to show you how overblown the hype has been. It would be funny as hell to see LBP get AAA though......then hermits will be yelling "the conspiracy"

Im not calling conspiracy nor WOE 8 IS BAD.

What I am saying is its a reflection on how games that aren't nearly as creative, unique and innovative score so much better. Seriosuly look the top scoring games...

Is that really good for gaming?

I for one think Spore is lacking in areas, and has increadably simplified design for a casual audience - it could have FAR MORE depth....

But I am still going to question how its judged it against other title.

I wish it would had been at least 8.5 ..but 8.0..that puts it below most EA sports games, all the average racers, and, ugh...Sherlock Holmes :? ..I mean seriesly... Hopefully I get to pick it up soon so I can judge it myself.

Another under performing game at GS? Do you guys ever give a good score anymore? Pretty much all games reviewed now are way off the mark. darklord888

Well..honestly refining genres is innovation in it's core, what I've experienced in games like Gears of War is unique to the genre and the gameply mechanics were well implemented in their games.

Less creative doesn't mean less compelling game, it may sound cliche but it is the truth.

For some reason, I saw this coming.

Still a great game, though, and very accessible.

Wow. Spore flopped. Not a hard flop, but I swore it would get AAA, and I got owned. Ownage approved.

But if this can get AA, then perhaps LBP is in danger.

Still, Spore proves to be one of the most uniqueproducts in recent memory, one that reaches for the stars and ends up giving us a universe in a box.

Indeed, but it makes you wonder, all the good points, and then marked down 2.0 points purely because the earlier stages are abit lackluster?

Gears of War got 9.6 yet pretty much everything but the 3rd person refinement and graphics were lackluster including online.

I stand by what I say, when games like Oblviion/Crysis/Gears get so high scores, the reviewers take graphics/presentation above all else.

Man I am so disappointed.:( I was hoping for at least a 9.0 and I guess it won't have a chance of getting to be a nominee for GOTY.*sigh* Oh well, still a great score, and I still going to get this game.
