Did you read my post? Its radio not an article. What was the name of the person who was interviewed, then?NRP (National Public Radio) Today on Marketplace Money: Stating the obvious. Despite what some posters on this board may delusionally believe, NPR (unbiased) did a report on video games in which this well-known fact was brought up. You could hear it in his voice that the interviewee had to refrain from laughing at the irrelevance of PC gaming when the subject was brought up. I know the response will be "Bu bu but DD sales!" Completely irrelevant, thinking otherwise just adds to the delusion. Anyway hope SW is having good day : )EvanTheGamerDFC says otherwise. And I think the only analytics group doing worldwide data gathering for games is a "little" more trust worth than some US-only radio program.
Sorry, you're trolling attempt failed.

This thread was destined to become , son, i know you didn't expect anyone to believe you with those signatures.
Indeed, not only he's obviously heavily biased, but he even puts lies into his own sig. So I doubt he expected anyone to treat him seriously. He's propably "doing it for the lulz"You do realise in your sig that WoW is just one game that you don't have to play and that you do HAVE to pay $60 a year if you want to do any sort of online gameplay on any game on the 360, lol.
and "it was on the radio" isn't really a good excuse on a forum, even if you are telling the truth you probably shouldn't of posted it.
you may aswell have said your cat told you about it.
Can we just get to the "cut and paste" pc responses to why this either doesn't matter or doesn't count? I'm tired of waiting for the BS stream.
hey TC today in my country i listened to amazing national radio a guy that was asked about gaming and when consoles came up he almost laughed. He also said that console gaming will die 2 years 4 months and 23 days. See what i did there ?adamosmaki
I heard the same report! (therefore it must be true!).
Man that guy couldn't stop laughing when they asked about console graphics too ;)
Although I'm not completely opposed to the possibility of the console market being vastly bigger than the pc market, I can't help but feel that any survey or study made to verify this claim would end up being moot. Firstly, the only lead these people have are sales. They will attempt to compare the sales of these two markets and draw a conclusion from it. Now here's the catch...PC games are far more pirated than console games, meaning that the actual sales only represent the paying customers, but the actual size of the pc community may be much much bigger. But then again, non-paying customers aren't really considered as part of the 'market' from a business standpoint. They really have to define what 'pc gaming' means. Do they mean the current paying customers? Or the whole userbase?

Yeah, he should have just said something like... " my lil' dog just looked me in the eyes with a sad puppy dog face wile i was playing around on my PC yesterday. I think he meant to tell me psychologically that PC gaming is just to small compared to console gaming. Consoles also have better graphics because they magically transform sun light to mana so developers that squeeze that juicy mana to push visuals further."
Would have ben funny .
Also, the Pc gmaing market is larger than console if include casual gaming portals/social games.
The only way consoles are larger is if you only look at core games: retial + downloads + MMO's.
And even then the COMBINED console revennue is only about 25% larger.
The bottom line is: who cares?
The PC is large enough that almost ALL publishers are putting out PC games.
The Pc gets the best version of multi-plats and has a huge and growing library of exclusives. Including some amazing free to play games.
Some games do better on PC than on console, regardless (Battlefield Bad company 2, Portal 2, Dungeon Defenders, Super MEat boy, and many others outsold consoles on PC).
Funny how if anyone says anything good about PC gaming everyones like, "Well there we have it folks." and when its against everyones like "OMG TEH LIEZ". I know its not a reliable source (there isn't one) but its still hilarious.

Yeah, i stated that in a very exaggerated way, i wasn't serious, basically throwing a similar coin the thread starter threw (biased crap).
Though i am serious wen i'm saying that it really is incredible how open ended a PC can be in the hands of a man with a creative mind fueling his passion. I can mold the perfect home entertainment system, everything that my mind can grasp, with enough time on my hands.

I think calling 90% of the kinect and wii library "core" is a misnomer.

Exactly, the comparison isn't even fair from that angle. The console has a lot of gamings that appeal to the same social network/casual portal gamers, and yet for some reason they don't "count" when it comes to PC.
so? the upscale market will always be smaller than the mass market.
pick any consumer product and the same holds true.
For the 1 millionth time...xbox360 version of bc2 out sold the pc by about half a million.....and the VAST majority of multiplats sell significantly more on consoles than pc.....Also, the Pc gmaing market is larger than console if include casual gaming portals/social games.

Wait, how are DD sales irrelivent? Can you explain this? I don't know anyone who buys retail PC games anymore
and yet it has more high scoring exclusives this generation alone than all three consoles combined. sale must be a very important factor.
It has been like that for ages.
Torrentsfreaks, a blog that tracks file-sharing, reports that the 2009 best seller Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for PC was illegally downloaded 4.1 million times last year — compared with 290,000 retail purchases. Here's how the three big gaming platforms have been pillaged by pirates.

And this is one of the biggest reasons ^^ ,MW2 selling 290,000 copies while it was download Gratis 4.1 million times, even the PS3 version eclipse those sales, the xbox 360 version even more, and it was also download 1 million times on 360,remember that this only cover turrents, not News groups or other kinds of sharing files, like direct DL links.

This is defintely true.
The PC market would easily be twice as large if A-hole pirates would support the paltform, instead of stealing. And that's taking into account that not all pirated copies = a lost sale.
The argument that msot don't though is complete BS.

Hmmm...how about slightly more technically impressive?I don't think that flies. It's not just about technical superiority (though that superiority is the msot obvisou, and 10x the pwer fo consoles is not something I would call "slight"), it's also about the trail blazing it's doing in the digital, free ot play, action online, and MMO genres's and mods! And flexibility and options and a ton fo other cool stuff.
It would be like looking at Angelina Jolie and Rosseann Barr and claiming the one was a "slight" improvemet over the other.
People stop takign you seriously at that point.
Just speaking as a scientist: if the price, games and the systems are superior then what other value is so negative as to drive the majority away?and yet it has more high scoring exclusives this generation alone than all three consoles combined. sale must be a very important factor.
