As a gaming controller it does fail. Even I have a kinect and I don't have an x360.

None of those sales are deserved. Its called excessive marketing, Kinect was advertised on cereal boxes.

As a lot of people, I bought to control my PC.

Still seems useless to me. I can't play those sales and it has not and won't produce any core games that are'nt simplified to acommodate the limited controls. I'd also wager that the chances of a non multiplat "hybrid" (cam/controller) core game are slim.

It's MS up to it's normal shinannigans, Go check what packages are available to consumers at the moment and tell me they aren't doing the same thing fanboys accused Sony of doing with Blu-ray.

and FYI, my family bought me a useless 4GB slim model for x-mas that cant take the HDD from my launch 360, no HDDs available (they are $100 on sale) and the only way I could get a larger hard drive is to return it and get a kinect package.

You don't congratulate someone when they don't deserve the recognition. 8 million in sales for what? A gimmick. I'll say the same for the Move, neither of them have a launch library worthy of the sales they recieved. Kinect had only "Dance Central" and Move had "Sports Champions" and the games with Move added features.

You can't seriously believe that Kinect deserves higher sales than the Dreamcast...

Being a console fan, you should know that you guys enjoy (tolerate the old tech of) your consoles because of convenience. If he wanted a multiplat machine and did'nt mind putting in a little effort, he would'nt be settling for a 360.

50 million is kind of low from what I was expecting, they were at 44.6 back in September, so at 50 mil they sold about 5.4 mil, which is pretty much the exact same sales as this same quarter last year, you'd with with Kinect coming out it will surge Xbox sales, but it pretty much stayed the same as last year.

i have many friends that went out and bought the product.

personally, i'm not a fan of kinect; I can see however, its significance in the gaming world, for better or for worse.

the game really expects a lot out of you physically if you want to excel in kinect sports against your friends for example. it can be mad fun but requires literally, a WHOLE family sized living room with couches moved etc if you want to play with two players. this is definitely for people that have a lot of room to spare.
