Gears of War 4 hype thread is here! Gamespot review! 7/10

That's right, it's the hype thread we all been waiting for! Gears of War 4 is the next big thing coming from MS and the new Develop team that is, Coalition. Now that we got that out of the way, where does Gears of War go this time? As you might already know, Gears of War 4 takes place 25 years after Gears 3 war with Humanity against the Locus and Lambent, the Gears won the war but at a costly one at that! That sums it up, don't wanna go too much details to avoid spoilers.

I gotta say, this is MS biggest game launch 2016, Gears of War 4 is going for king of 3rd person shooter 2016! The Campaign is said to be 10 hours (or more) of gameplay and if there's one thing I like about Gears, it's the Campaign, MP is just a bonus for me despite I put like 60 hours of Gears of War 3 MP. Its coming to PC but still not interested because windows store is trash. and they want to promote thier shitty digital distribution. and that ridiclous high system requirement. seriously.

Where's the poll? fail!! Hype is officially 10/10 as usual since lems are claiming MS is the second coming of Christ these last weeks. Anything less is a flop.

When making hype threads, it's NOT Recommended to include a poll. This is one of them!

We all know those recommended specs are always inflated. Always wait until the game is release and see what people say about it.

One more thing I need to say, do NOT and I mean do NOT buy the Season Pass, it's a complete rip-off! Not worth the money for $50 and looking at the Ultimate Edition, if one was going to pay $50 for a lousy season pass, just save $50 more dollars for the Ultimate Edition would be my advice. But hey, it's your money, not my business what you spend it on but I just want to point out that Season Pass alone is a joke and charging $50 is also stupid. $60 is all MS will get from me!

Pretty much this, I upgrade my 970 to Gigabyte 1070 last week and it's a huge improvement from my 970.

I'm buying no matter the score but I'll be conservative and say 8/10

Makes a lot more sense. The 1070 is in 2016 what the 970 was in 2014. They are nearly 2 years apart and the 970 is still in the "recommended" bracket. Don't know why anyone is complaining. I'm expecting the latest games to take advantage of the latest graphics cards. Not to be maxed-out by a mid/high-end GPU from 2 years ago.

Played the first one quite a bit. It came out hyped as being comparable to Halo's MP and my god it was terrible. I HATED the 2nd one so so much, although the horde mode was fun. I find the corridor set pieces (and blah story) boring asf.

You should have played the story mode in co-op if you didn't. It's quite fun on Hardcore/Insane with a friend. No, the story isn't great, nor is the acting or the writing or characterization.

Surprised you didn't like the MP, I played a lot of GoW2 and it was quite good. Haven't played Gears in some 5 years though so maybe I'd be like you today and wouldn't enjoy it much.

Expecting an 8/10 and around 83 Meta/Gamerankings. Same ballpark as you.

Unless we are talking Ultra or High i don't see why a 970 should not move it in 4k at least at xbox one quality..

Any way i expect an 8.

I somewhat enjoyed geow1 on a PC but I'm not interested in geow4 unless it comes with 2 and 3.

Going with 8/10 for the score.

My guess is a 970 for 60fps/High settings in the campaign at 1080p. 980 Ti for High settings/60fps at 2K and GTX 1080 for High settings/60fps in the campaign at 4K.

I not sure how the PC specs are inflated. It looks reasonable to me.

Not much longer now. I can not wait to pick up my copy.

Gears is probably my favourite sci-fi game universe, to be honest. I love the fact that the story is an excuse to get the chainsaw bayonet into fleshy alien scum as frequently as possible, and I love how the main characters are colour coded into black guy, blonde guy, brown guy, and scarfaced guy.

It cuts away all the pretension most games like to dress themselves up in (as @jg4xchamp always says, video game stories are mostly crap anyway), and just gets on with being a game.

For that matter, it's the number one video game franchise I'd love to see get turned into an action movie. Just get WWE superstars in the main roles (Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Dave Batista, and Brock Lesnar) and you pretty much cannot fail.

Is Cole even in the game? I haven't really watched any trailers and I've only seen old Marcus. What about the rest? Any old characters confirmed? Loved the first two games, third one was meh and still haven't played Judgement. Gears of War and Dead Rising actually made me buy a 360 so I hope it will be good.

Gotcha and backlog, yikes, I have never had such a backlog in all my years of gaming. Decades worth sounds about right. lol

I actually enjoy playing Judgment for what it was mainly the Campaign was well done but the MP was lackluster from the previous Gears. Also I didn't know there was more Gears 4 Xbox One S custom edition!
