DOA: Last Round For PC Is Not Getting The Best Treatment

Worse particle effects, no extra stages, no soft engine for the boobs...it's basically a PS3 port, lol.

Turning to insults instead and semantics. I know what it means genius. It's nonexistent in the sense no PC gaming company takes Japan seriously. The market for PC games (Western PC games) isn't there. So if it isn't there it's nonexistent. The existence of a minority doesn't really matter to companies because they need profits. The minority of PC gamers in Japan can suck it to themselves because they are few and far between. Hell I would bet most of them are foreigners living in Japan like me. The pains of later release dates of some games on Steam not to mention the unavailability of games like the Total War series or even Japanese games like Valkyria and some FF titles is just ridiculous. Answer this question then. Why do you think there are no Blizzard games that are translated to Japanese when the country just around the corner (Korea) is one of the most important market for Blizzard? It's very simple really yet your mind seem to be having a hard time understanding. You would think a Japanese translation would be easy especially for Blizzard since RTS aren't exactly known to be wordy.

Sadly the season pass has a costume that can only be accessed by buying it.=O

I've heard people say the soft engine makes the game look worse as it doesn't fit in with overall visuals of the game and that the particle effects weren't much of a difference at all.

PC version still gets the hair and shadows.

I wonder if modders will be able to add the missing things to the PC version.

Personally I will take 4k 60fps over the other effects, although I do hate that they are not adding the extra stages.

Huh? Soft engine is about the way the breast move which is far more natural than the last gen versions, it has nothing to do with the visuals, and the current gen versions definitely has better models than the last gen versions.

Why in the hell would they port the PS3 version of the game, instead of the newer code?? I've noticed this with all of Koei Dynasty Warrior ports to PC as well. What gives man....

As what I posted above, nothing new here, Dynasty Warriors on Steam doesn't even have an online multiplayer.

@remiks00: A part of me thinks that the failure of Nippon Ichi Software's Cladun X2 pretty much gave other Japanese developers a get out of jail free card in regards to doing these sorts of things. People will still buy it because the alternative would be the developer never touching PC gaming ever again.

With a 270X? Really? I have that card. And the 4GB (Sapphire) version at that. And yeah... it's great for the price but it hardly chews through the most unoptimised games out there (and it's paired with an 8350). And that system doesn't really do much with future proofing: it's just about good enough to run games for now, which is problematic as the true wave of new generation games are yet to be released as we're only coming out of cross-generation development now.

On an aside I did cancel my DOA pre-order. Not out of protest really, but because why get the PC version when, on balance, the PS4 version is just as good and can be found cheaper? It doesn't really make sense to me to get it on the PC.

I'm still getting it for the mods :3.

I'll play my PS4 version when I want things like this....

The PC version will still be glorious for the mods.

They didn't port the PS3 version. In fact, this IS NOT a console port at all.

They took the cheap way out and ported the Sega Ringedge Arcade version, which pretty much is a PC version that requires a little modification. Hence why no Online Support.

PC version is based off the Arcade version, not a console version.

PC games have always been way behind consoles. Nothing new there.

My point still stands that Japanese devs are magically immune to the idea that you shouldn't purchase games on Steam sight unseen.

I'm playing the PC version right now and other that no Soft Engine and missing stages the game is actually pretty good. It looks just as good as the PS4 version I own if you minus missing Soft Engine effects. The game is crisp and smooth, I can't say I'm disappointed with the visuals at all. Mods will make this game even more epic than console versions. Here are some pics I took, enjoy......

Well PS4 has the Best version of Dead or Alive 5 and Guilty Gear Xrd. That's two reasons to own one I suppose.

I'm not too surprised by the terrible handling Tecmo did to PC gamers for Dead or Alive, but I wish they at least put forth effort.

Might have something to do with Japanese devs generally not giving a **** about their PC ports. I sorta agree with him seeing as the PS4 version of DOA is superior to PC version right now.

Did you know Itagaki flipped his shit over Lisa being "whitewashed", Quad? I haven't played much of previous DOA titles, but as far as I know, Lisa is a Latina Luchadore. And she looks Latina in my game. She doesn't look white. I think Itagaki is upset he's making something as horrible looking as Devil's Third, as opposed to this.

I bit the bullet, but that's because I wanted DOA5 on PC. but I will say if you are feeling sad that you didn't get it, don't be.

This port is pretty bad when it doesn't even allow me to play at my native res of 2560x1440.

I have to play at 3840x2160.

But the game does run fine maxed out at 4k res with 4xSSAA.

That is literally 16x the resolution of 1080p.

PS3 version, no multiplayer for months and £90 of day 1 dlc.

Seems like another high quality product from the best industry around.

I wish people wouldn't purchase the product until they work out the kinks and have online available.

Buying a shitting product with little to no work going into it just tells the company they can continue putting out shitting products.

I certainly am not buying the product until they support my resolution and add in online support.

Even then I will wait for a price drop.

No reason to purchase the game right now since it doesn't even support online so you are just going to be playing against NPCs.

The devs basically ripped the arcade version and did some lazy porting to PC with it.

I don't get it. Movies, cost more money to make than games, yet I can quite happily buy a blueray with extra's such as dvd commentary, deleted clips, or alternate endings or extended scenes for pretty much the same standard price.

Yet, with gaming, I see price jumps from £29.99, to £39.99 to £49.99 and then £59.99. More and more and more dlc and now micro-transactions riddled into a £50 game, with people saying "oh, it's inflation, oh, games are costing more".

It never seems to figure into their heads that perhaps (just maybe) the industry is full of greedy fucks who should be shown with nothing but contempt.
