They had ONE job.

Next you'll be telling me it's 2 hours long with 1.55 of those hours being bad anime cutscenes.

I never had high hopes for this game.

Watched something on IGN that shows how u can disable all the hand holding, including checkpoints, for old school Thief experience. As for everything else, I'd wait for the actual game to make a final judgment

It won't, there is too much loading when going through doors. Mind you, loading times when entering buildings...

I second this. I can forgive bad level design and AI. But it's the sex scenes that make or break this game.

Dont care about sex scenes in games, if i want watch stuff like that i just watch some porn movie. The game does not look that terrible from what i seen. I keep my pre-order thank you.

From the minute I originally saw the game awhile back I wrote it off.

There are just too many new and original games coming out I am far more interested in than a needless reboot of a series that hasn't been good in decades.

@Gargus: A game coming out the February after a next-gen launch is capitalizing on desperate gamers who have nothing to play (yes, I know it's coming to ps3 360). It's the same reason Tomb Raider DE wouldn't have been successful outside of January. If this game was something worth seeing, it would come out over the summer or later.

Only our hermit uninspiredcup making the argument that consoles dumbed this game down. It may or it may not have, but I'd argue multiplat & cross gen, mainly XB1 development is a bigger concern.

Regardless of what it ends up being I don´t think anyone was expecting the greatness of the first two games wich are all time greats material,especially Thief 2: The Metal Age wich is arguably still the best stealth game ever made.

I think Thief is still going to be a great game. I've seen enough for myself to be reasonably sure of that.

Oh, please. The first Thief came out in 1998 which isn't even two decades ago. Thief Deadly Shadows came out in 2004 and was a great game.

Watched a bit of the Twitch feed. Honestly, I was expecting worse. If the Neogaf thread is anything to go by, you'd assume ET for the Atari 2600 were being streamed. The worst I saw was a guard not noticing a flame being extinguished by a water arrow near him. Immersion breaking, but not game breaking.

It amazes me how quickly people are to jump on any negative point to be able to immediately declare, "worst game evarrrrzzzz!!!!", cancelling preorders and coming to conclusions without even giving it a chance. Way to think for yourselves, guys.....

I don't see this scoring above an 8 or so, but I still think it'll be somewhat decent. No game's perfect. But man, I've never seen such a degree of bad PR and gamer animosity towards any game before its release. It's like people WANT to hate it. If this didn't have the Thief name behind it, I doubt the hate would be there.

I feel for these people. It must be very hard for them to enjoy games. Many look back at the originals and seem to forget they were lacking in certain areas as well.

I hate topics like this, NO ONE can judge a game before it's released and official reviews are posted.....and even then it's all subject to personal opinion.

I think it looks great, with a plethora of new features to help stealth, climbing and stealing look and feel even cooler than previous games....but again thats my opinion, i pre-ordered it, except i will wait and play 3 to 5 hours worth of the game before coming on here to voice my honest opinion.

This TC is probably an Xbox One only owner and therefore just bitter that Thief runs in 900p on XOne and 1080p on PS4.

I was kind of "meh" on this game anyways. I was only going to get it if it turned out to be AMAZING.

What?!? They didn't...they couldn't....they mustn't!! Not only have a cancelled my pre-order, by I've thrown both my console & PC out the window in protestt! Bad textures and broken dialogue is one thing in a video game, but awkward sex? What do they take us for?

But it's all fitting in his persona of trying to act hardcore: options are bad. The game needs to only appeal to a niche number of hardcore gamers and anything trying to appeal to a larger audience by adding options is bad.

It's been this kind of bitching since the game was first announced. This game will be great, and the people that can't overlook some things because of their elitism, will miss out.
