That's awesome, really makes me want an TES game set in a tropical setting!
That said, I disagree, there are many graphics mods around that make a very signifficant difference in the overall visuals. My modded Skyrim looks far better than the vanilla version...
I guess we're going to have to disagree then. I don't think graphics mods aren't necessary all the time, but at this point I don't think Skyrim benefits much from them. The changes all seem subtle and things you would only notice if you were looking for them and not anything that would overall affect your enjoyment of the game or make it more re-playable or anything. Games that would benefit from graphics improvements are much older imo. Oblivion I would say at this point does, and Morrowind definitely does.Yeah, I definitely welcome visual mods in older games, as long as they don't conflict with the original artstyle. Great example is SHTUP, for System Shock 2.
But still, when you install a good amount of graphics mods on a game like Skyrim, the difference is definitely noticeable to the average person... mods like terrain and foliage retexture, for example, do make a signifficant difference. Sure, the difference is not as big as that tropical mod you linked, but when I mod, I do my best to improve the visuals as much as I can while preserving the original artstyle... and I'm very pleased with the modding results in Skyrim.
