Another great reason why consoles can't compete with PC.

no console (this gen or next) can compete with that.

Now that I have a new rig I have to try out graphics mod again. I tried 2k textures on a 6850 with 1gb vram and that was not enough.

PC Gaming: Better than consoles, you just have to make your own games first.

i running a few nice mods on skyrim (non enb mods) and the game looks 110% better. it looks so good that i can't even play the xbox360 version anymore (what an ugly game it is without mods ugh!), plus the load times are TERRIBLE on consoles as well.

Do you feel better about your purchase now? PC has some advantages but it also has it's disadvantages as well, I notice many PC guys on here don't talk about the latter. A lot of mods don't actually run that great and can crash your system, yes everything is set fine and my PC can handle it, but people that make mods are not developers so they are prone to bugs and other problems. With consoles you always get an optimized experience, and developer support is always better than mod support in my opinion.

and you only need a set up like this to be able to play at a frame rate that isn't a slide show..

System:
Intel i5-2500K@4,3GHz
NVidia GTX 680 OC GPU Boost @ 1200MHz
16GB DDR3
120GB SSD for Win7 64
60GB SSD for Skyrim
1TB HD 7200rpm

1. CPU: (for even the 3.3 version) $220

2. GPU: $460

3 RAM: $112

4. SSD: $60

2 SSDs? :? Don't even need one.

And the GPU is overpriced for what you get. Pop a 7950 in there and it will perform almost the same for almost 2/3 the price. (1/2 in some places)

You also only need half the RAM.

God if you're gonna do something like this at least do it right and srop looking like an idiot/ You forgot a PSU, motherboard and OS. Yes PC gaming is expensive but you don't take it up unless you think it's worth it. If you don't then great, stick to a console. That's what they're made for.

so your games could suck twice as bad a they already do?? lol

Tombraider seems to be working on all consoles, doesn't seem that way for alot of PCs.

That's not remotely true. The game works perfectly fine if you turn off tesselation. Nvidia didn't receive the game code until a few days before the game launched, so they just need to release new drivers to fix out those very minor kinks--and they are very minor. Tesselation is barely noticeable in the game.

Maybe if you tried playing the PC version instead of making conclusions based on hearsay I'd take you seriously. The game runs perfectly fine and looks beautiful on my setup. The crashing with tesselation enabled for Nvidia cards is easily remedied in less than a minute. By comparison, the console versions look like complete ass.

Quite the false notion actually. PC games will begin looking much nicer once console games of the next generation begin getting ported over with higher polygon counts. Skyrim on PC uses the same polygon count as the console version. Developers aren't going to re-do every mesh for the PC platform and alienate an even higher percentage of there fans. That's another reason HD remakes don't generally look "HD" as you'd expect. I've yet to see a developer create one in which they re-doing every model and re-rig every polygon. Even modders cannot do this, as this is often hard coded and implausible without a large development team. You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd.

Here's a reason they can....... they don't cost $1000.

not that impressive, only the lighting was pretty good, everything else is meh....still doesnt look as good as the Deep Down trailer

And you're playing the Deep Down tech demo/target render right now, right? Because you better be able to play it if you can claim that.

The Deep Down trailer is not representative of any game on the PS4. It's an in-engine tech demo rendered on PC.

Guess I'll just throw some of my Skyrim screenshots. Various mods with Jasmin ENB.

well the Deep Down trailer was in game real time footage, and it looked fantastically good...these Skyrim mods dont look good lol

not to mention the Deep Down trailer was running on unfinished, unfinalized PS4 dev kits, so the graphics will get EVEN better then what they showed

Proof that the Deep Down trailer was in game and real time?

I also love how consolites say PC screenshots that are impossible to ever see on a console don't look good on a constant basis. If you guys don't think these Skyrim shots look good, then playing Skyrim on console must be really aggrevating, especailly with how bad it looks on console.

LOL at all these desperate sony fanboys. I would bet money that all those tech demo's were running off a PC in the background. Hell they never even showed you the new playstation and yet you guys are so desperate you will believe whatever they tell you.

Until I see a console with a disc in the tray running a game as someone plays it real time, then I don't care what anyone says it can do, because you still havn't showed me what it can do.

It's likely that it was indeed running in real time. Considering the engine is in early development as of now, there would be many rendering issues. These types of issues were visible in the demo, leading me to believe it was real time. Regardless, it was a target render. It's more or less likely games will look similar or better then that once games become more specific and optimized for the console.

Skyrim's just not a impressive looking game bro its old....and its been confirmed in a recent PS4 podcast with some Capcom developers..

Okay, let's see the link to that podcast.
