Official retro pickup of the day thread!

Don't have pics but I had a few good pickups this week. Got Phantom Dust, Futurama(disc only), and Teen Titans on Xbox all for about $80. Only saved about $120 there.

Original Xbox collection is at about 660 out of 864.

I don´t know if it´s old enough to be considered retro ( but it may be since it was only available for a limited time ) but I got this for 150 US, it´s in top condition and it came with Super Smash Bros:

My game console pick-ups since about last month:

Namco Museum - Now I finally have at least ONE version of it.

Super Mario All-Stars Wii - It still could be better, but thankfully with Nintendo Selects, it's cheaper than the SNES cart.

Excite Truck - Not totally retro, but it's grouped with the others.

Bayonetta 2 - Same as Excite Truck above.

I can't post pics because of mobile, but I recently bought Sonic 2, Eternal Champions and Aladdin for the Sega Genesis. I never owned one as a child so I figured I would start collecting for it now.

Eternal champions is one of my favorites! Post pics when you can.

Scratch this off the bucket list. Just got ahold of this. Will have better pictures soon. It is CIB, have some cleaning up to do with it.

I still need to get my hands on a ROB, someday....

I recently traded a copy of Megaman 2 and Luigi's Mansion for FZero GX on GameCube, SF Anniversary & Superman Returns on Xbox, and an Xbox S controller. My quest to 100% the original Xbox has kind of stagnated though. At 694 out of 884, but getting tired of hunting for the remaining games, a lot of the prices are getting out of hand, don't really feel like blowing all of my gaming money on it anymore.

What games are getting up there in price?

@n64dd: Tbh, I'm not really speaking about the $60-100 titles as much as I am the $5 titles that everyone wants $10-20 for. And I sure as shit won't be spending $15 for a sports game released in 2002.

As for titles that have been inflated in price recently... Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis went up from $75 to $125. Teen Titans is up to $100 from $50. Futurama is up from $50 to $80. There are a bunch of the $15-20 games going for $50-60 now, like Call of Cthulhu, Predator: Concrete Jungle, and a few others.

I think out of all the games worth more than $25 I have all but 9 or 10 of them(Predator:CJ, Digimon Arena 2, Psychonauts, Spikeout, IHRA Sportsman Ed, Baldurs Gate DA 2, Fatal Frame 2, The Guy Game, and Obscure)

It's crap like The Bible Game that is getting to me, I refuse to pay $15 for that crap.

@n64dd: That's another thing I'm sick of. Other local collectors find out I'm collecting original Xbox stuff and they start buying it all up trying to sell it to me for ebay prices. If I'm going to pay ebay prices, i'll go on ebay.

Might be getting an original Metroid for NES factory sealed. Will be working out details..will be a couple weeks.

@n64dd: That would be an awesome find. Hell I'd just be happy to find a copy in the original box in good condition.

A fun, cheap little pickup. Both some of my favorite games of all time. They're going to a buddy who hasn't played any advanced wars and never got a chance to play the older fire emblems.

I was at North East Retro Gaming over the weekend and picked up- MediEvil 2 £8, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (Japanese) £8, Crash Bash (Japanese) £5 and Banjo Pilot (GBA) £5

I picked up a Sega Genests for $29.99 this past weekend. Never owned one as a kid so it has been fun as hell so far.

Picked these up for less than a 100 for the whole lot. 9.5 out of 10 condition CIB, manuals, games still in plastic. Crazy good find today. Totalled it out to between 730-850 USD of what it's all worth. A lot will probably be traded at a swap meet this weekend for some stuff i'm looking for.

I recently got Xena Warrior Princess and F1 world grand Prix for the n64 and for the original xbox I got Tony Hawks Underground, Ford vs. Chevy and Mx vs. ATV Unleashed all for $7.50

It´s almost perfect ( other than a small damage to one of the corners of the box ).

DK C3 is proving to be harder to find than the other two, I located one but what has kept me from getting it is not the price ( $ 30 US ), it´s that the friggin´ shipping costs the same !

That's amazing! I need that for what I picked up yesterday! (the micro).

A few of my pickups from yesterday. The Zelda is factory sealed and the Yoshi is complete in box. The micro is the japanese blue one(not region locked :D). Enjoy.

I picked up a nearly-mint copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES yesterday (I'm not sure why the photo has rotated when uploaded - it doesn't show up that way on my computer...)

I tried it out last night and it works perfectly. The cartridge is in stunning condition! So, I'm really happy with it. This was one of my favourite games as a kid, and I was really pleased to find a version that comes CIB.

Batman: Vengeance (GameCube) - Second copy (both bought at a thrift shop), only this time, it has the boxart.

Super Monkey Ball (GameCube) - On the way; went with this one over the PS2 version because, more content be damned, I hear that both the PS2 and the XBOX versions were pretty sloppy ports for the fact that the analog controls didn't transfer well from the GameCube controller and unlike the infamous button swap on the GameCube version of Mega Man Anniversary Collection (which, for me works, just takes getting used to, which isn't even long), THAT is a turn off for me given what kind of game Monkey Ball is.

Picked up Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete.. unfortunately it didnt have the pendant and all of the other stuff that it originally came packaged with.

Funny enough, I ended up finding that game disc only for $2.50 in a garage sale. Gonna cost me $5 to replace the manual & boxart but its a lot cheaper than the $15 everyone else wanted. :D

Lots of finds today out in the thrift stores. Best score was a Model 1 Sega CD. Also snagged a Model 2 Genesis with 6 controllers and about 6 games, Legend of the Dragoon black label, and a copy of Digimon Rumble Arena 2 on Xbox. Also got a bunch of other Xbox games for the collection. down to 130 games left to complete the collection, and have about 5 of those in the mail.

Bought Carmageddon N64. Heard it was a horrible port, but I never ever played a Carmageddon game plus I still have a small collection for N64 and trying to build one. Also it was sealed fully for only 15 bucks

Gf got me this as a birthday gift. I'll leave just the back so your imagine can run wild. Yes it's factory sealed, and extremely hard to find. One mario away from having every core Mario game factory sealed.

OMFG!!! That box is the very same box that my parents got me my first ever gaming console in the early 90's, it came with SNES+Super Mario World, it was the greatest birthday gift my parents got me but man, I wish they save that box, I could've made a fortune if I was smart enough to find out if it can be worth something. Nice find N64DD
