If True, then the media and left would have no problem denouncing the riots, and the DAs of those blue state cities would have no issue actually charging them with the serious crimes they commit, and the mayors would have no issue accepting federal help to put a stop to it. But none of that is happening, so yeah, it's going to taint all your precious "protests." Have you even denounced the riots?

First off, Trump hasn't used troops against citizens. Secondly, even if he were, even CNN has admitted he has more than enough grounds to invoke the insurrection act. So you have zero argument to make on that front. Lastly, few people on the right like McCain. Few people on the right even wanted him as president because he was seen as little more than an Obama-Lite which is why voter turnout in 2008 was so poor, and why Obama ultimately won. So if you think trying to use John McCain as some kind of appeal as to people on the right, it's not going to work. And if you're trying to use it as some lame ass attempt to tie John McCain to all veterans, when most veterans also have a strong dislike for John McCain, you're going to fall flat on that front too.

You may want to find an argument that is actually relevant to the topic.

Also, McCain had a 22 point polling lead in decided voters a few months before the election and while there was clearly some slippage he still won the veterans vote handily, although a couple points below Bush. That doesn't make him wildly popular and his results are lower than Trump in 2016 with veterans, but saying that most veterans have a strong dislike for McCain is flatly wrong.

He has always been that way about vets. He made it very clear back in 2015 when he said he liked the ones who weren’t captured. Even Fox has confirmed the Atlantic’s story. It’s a done deal.

I'm not really laughing at them, I just think people got taken in by a salesman (Uncle Sam in this case) who doesn't really intend to hold up his end of the bargain a fair amount of the time.

Most of the veterans I know went in for the GI Bill. Having your college tuition paid for a short time in the military isn't a bad deal if you're broke with no real future ahead of you. Not to mention a majority of folks don't actually see combat while in the military.

Plus there are all the skills you learn. Go in a high-school grad, come out a mechanic, experienced clerical worker (lord knows they love their paperwork in the military), tech support, pilot, gain some leadership skills, or whatever. The military has pretty much every civilian role to fill, plus the combat roles.

I also don't mind if Trump (or anyone)is a draft dodger until he starts talking shit about veterans like he does. Then he is just out of line. Lord knows the US hasn't fought a war worth fighting since WWII, so I don't think little of anyone not wanting to fight, but you have to respect the military for doing their job.

First off the troops lost none of those wars. Politicians........yes. Troops no. Second I don't want to hear an opinion on the military from anyone who hasn't served.
