Reccomendation time. I have GTA, Untold Legends, Hot Shots Golf, Lumines and MegaMan: Powered up, I am not interested in MGA AT ALL. The one problem is I have no Wireless connection for now, so what games would you reccomend for single player only?

At the moment im into Wipeout and football manager handheld .. and also a few other games have been released recently you may want to find people opinions on these.
I recently picked up Field Commander. Finished all the tutorials, and I'm on the first campaign level. The similarities to Advance Wars are definitely present. If the developer wasn't inspired by AW, I'll step on my own foot. I think I'm gonna love the mission editor...I was poking around in it, and it appears you can actually set various victory conditions besides simply wiping out the enemy or capturing X number of properties. I'll probably hold off playing online until I beat the campaign and get used to FC's gameplay.
I'm going on a trip soon and just wanted a recommendation on a game to pickup for it. I have: Wipeout, GTA, Syphon Filter, MGA, MGA2, Katamari, Exit, Burnout, SOCOM, Coded Arms, Ridge Racer, and Lumines. I'm thinking Field Commander or Daxter. Field Comm. looks to be more action filled, but Daxter looks good too. Which is better for being crammed in a car?

I love MGA2 and I'm generally not a card/turn-based fan. It's not extremely tactical unless you make it; it can be played in many ways. You can just go in and kill everyone but your rating will suffer. Or, you can take a more stealthy approach usually with better results. I don't know about RPGs but SOCOM and Syphon Filter are the best current shooters.
MGA2 does have a little excessive storyline for a portable game, although that's expected from a Metal Gear game. Replay value isn't amazing, and the story takes a good 10+ hours. I am on my second go through and have logged just under 30 hours total. The game has an arena mode where you fight MGS bosses (Ocelot, Liquid, etc) with the Acid card system. It's kinda cool, although only has two difficulties (one being fairly easy, the other nearly impossible). Their are lots of cards to collect and lots of videos to unlock (such as the TGS MGS4 trailer and cutscenes from MGS3). MGA2 definitely has a tactical style to it, but it is much more simple than, say, Splinter Cell or the MGS games (largely because, being turn-based, you can anticipate enemy movements and orchestrate it so you can move large distances while an enemy is turned away). It's one of my favorite PSP games; it has a lot more substance than the original MGA, and is much more refined for faster gameplay (and also more fun).
I'm looking into getting a nice soccer (football for all the European Gamespotters out there) game for my PSP, but I don't know whether to get FIFA 06, FIFA 06 World Cup, or Winning Elven. Online play would be nice, but isn't necessary (I'm looking at you Winning Elven). What do you guys reccomend? I've read the reviews, but they aren't doing much for me.

i would like an RPG and i think Ys is the only one out now worthy of my money. but im sure theres something much better than Ys on the PSP. ive played Lumines and Generation of Chaos and i HATED both games. so dont even recommend them. my current firmware is 2.6 and i will not update but i dont think any games have been released for 2.7 right?

Wait a month and you can get Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. It's a port of a PS1 game, but it's better than spending $100+ on eBay.

Tekken Dark Resurrection owns. A lot. If you like fighting games, then buy it for sure. If not, than this game is good to get into them. Read my review if you feel like it...
If you guys are looking for RPGs, get Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. It's a PS1 RPG, but it's still a must-buy, especially if you haven't played it before.
quick question, i was wondering if it was worth the money to buy a psp if it will cut into my ps3 funds? and what will make me want a psp?live4thepackers
Its not really a quick answer, but considering how much you have in your PS3 fund it shouldn't cut into it to much. I'd say get the core PSP pack or the Entertainment pack which will be out soon. Buying the PSP and accesories should come around about $350-400.

It depends on how much you are going to use it really. The PSP has a lot of features, so make sure you'd take advantage of them. This is like the video player, music player, internet browser, RSS feeds, Location Free TV, downloadable demos, upcoming camera and PS1 emulator and so on. As for games, there are plenty of new games promising to be great like Coded Arms 2, CoD 2, MoH, GTA:VCS and plenty more.
 in terms of using the PSP a lot i will be using it a lot. Music, internet and games like the ones you mentioned sound great. I was thinking of buying metal gear acid but the ratings for it have been decent. Any games out right now that are good to go out and buy for the psp.:D

Wipeout Pure, Burnout, GTA, Loco Roco and I've heard Tekken is good. Also Socom FTB and Syphon Filter. Those should keep you busy :) There are a few more too.
