this is crap for two reasons: 1. who gives a ^$*% if theres lines from the quaran in there? who CARES? ik the translations a little heavy but would anyone know any better if we heard it? NO. im sry but my ancient arabics a little rusty. and second of all, itsa sad world we live in if a GLOBAL RECALL hasta happen onna game bc it quotes some mean lines from a religious text. i mean, there was apolcalyptic norse mythology in max payne.....and it was just like rockstar or whoever developed that game thought; no one cares.

i liked wat that other guy sed tho. mayb theyll fix some minor issues while they take out those lines. hope the delay isnt toooo much longer. idk about u buys but im waiting until christmas anyway (cant buy anthing until new years) so if they took the time itd be fine by me

Because particular cultures don't. It's suitable precaution against the crazies that may rampage Sony and MM if the original disc image stayed live.

It should be released as planned in the US. We have this little thing here called freedom of speech and expression. Obviously history has shown us that this is something that those who are complaing about this game know little about.

But in a way I'm glad I'm not going to listen to that crap anyways.

what gets me is why they haven't noticed the problem earlier, hasn't this been gold for like a month? They should of kept it quiet, and had a patch prepped for launch so noone would of noticed. I'm not too bothered as theres a ton of games to play, during late october - november, but a release date would be nice to know.

on a side note i'm pretty sure muslims believe in death, i'm guessing it's the soul will perish thats offensive, opposed to the we all die line.

the following is NOT having a go at any cultures btw so dont moderate me, it is merely a philosophical question...

if it had contained lyrics from any other religious text then would any1 have cared? thats more what i meant originally. (i also understand that most people dont care now... including me)

But someone else's ancient Arabic is not. If nobody understood the lyrics, how do you explain the phrases being discovered to be from the Qur'an and subsequently translated? Considering the upbeat, positive nature of the game, having such phrases in it just don't bode well. It'll be on shelves soon enough.

practically every Muslim might care. Theres a difference between Norse Mythology and Religion, hence, Mythology AKA MYTH!!!. Its not essential to stick in music or any form of relation of religious context into a game, because it wont make it any better, so why put it in there in the first place? That Wii game Zak and Wiki had a song or audio in there saying "ALLAH", not saying that will spark a fuse to muslims, but it isnt essential. Muslims complained about it saying they dont like the idea of that stuff in the game. Its like putting Mecca and Medina in Assassins Creed, you think any muslim would approve of that? Hell no. Religion should stay out of games, n there will be no problems :)

Well they couldn't take any legal action in the US and those who are foolish enough to be driven to violence over a song would surely find something else to be violent about anyways.

Politics are complete **** nowdays and anyone can sue anyone for anything, i will definitly miss LBP for another weeks but at least Sony isnt gonna take any damage from those haters out there. But i also think it would be more easy to make a patch or an update that fixes the racism instead of making new copies.

Also i live in a 3rd World country, so i can sniff around and see if i can catch an early copy of LBP- the racist one.

well, its dumb that we need to lump all LBP discussion to this thread because most ppl dont read this threads.

Anyways,,, you can still get LBP on release if you preorder the game (or already have). Unfortunately GS admins are anal about 'thread congestion' and most ppl wont know this and will miss out. My thread on the subject was already locked
