These news drivers are working amazing for me. Maxed out Crysis 3 maintaining over 30 fps, maxed out BF3 multiplayer above 60 fps. I'm going to try Far Cry 3 now.. if I can max that out above 60 fps I'll be pretty happy.

Edit: Damn I can finally max out FC3 at 60 fps! And this time I don't have it still in Dx9, when I thought it was in Dx11.. like last time. :P

UCF_Knight

Yeah the newest drivers bumped my FPS up a good chunk as well for Crysis 3.

I expect at launch it will be even better. However this game pushes graphics. Crytek wasn't kidding. The game looks fantastic on medium settings though. Absolutly fantastic. Excellent scaling.

The most amazing thing is how much they improved the water interaction, It was plain and dull in Crysis 2 and Crysis.

[QUOTE="GoldenElementXL"]Wow I'm glad I came on here and saw that there are drivers for the GTX 690. I am only at 30 fps right now @ 2560x1440. Elann2008
only 30fps? In which games? Just curious.

This and Metro 2033 are the only games that are sub 60 fps for me. I even put the AA to FXAA and only hit around 35. I'm not sure if its my CPU or the VRAM on the 690 that's hurting me. Crysis 3 looks great though

Download MSI Afterburner to see how much VRAM those games are taking at 1440p, I already know Crysis 3 goes over 2.4GB VRAM at 1440p/1600p. I also saw that Metro 2033 goes over 2GB as well.

Yeah I just looked at another board and Crysis 3 is hitting around 2.45 gigs of VRAM on 7680x1440. Since I am only running one monitor I don't think that's my issue. The Nvidia sites benchmarks uses a 3960x, and GTX 690 and is sub 60 fps before the drivers.

I average 45-60 FPS with everything set to high and FXAA. The game is actually pretty fun, and I was surprised to see an FOV slider. :P

This is good news for SLI owners!

"An important note for you SLI users, the 313.96 drivers need a small profile update to enable SLI support, expect to see an EVGA SLI Enhancement posted tomorrow to enable SLI."

Can't wait!

I'm maxing it easily on an OC'd 570, which is basically a 580. Seems smoother than Crysis 2. Netcode is still bollocks online though, but I'm more interested in SP and mods

By maxing it you mean what? I've got 2 OC'ed 570s in an SLI can I can't max it at a decent FPS.

1. It's VRAM hungry as it takes over 2GB at 1080p.

2. SLI doesn't work yet, there will be a patch for it soon with EVGA SLI Enhancement.

What fps? With those settings I get 60 fps on the dot. Sounds like your oc'ed 570 is about the same as my stock 670.

Im actually enjoying beta so far. Graphics are nice but not mind blowing. Still fun though (love hunter mode). Getting around 32 to 40 frames with everything set on very high with medium msaa(x2). Set up: gtx670 3570k 8gb ram 1440p monitor.

I think no one can say that this isn't a proper PC version this time. It has so many graphics options, especially for AA, more than many PC exclusives actually.

And when you look at the 360 version it's very clear they developed it for PC first and then scaled it down to run on consoles.

Remember the singleplayer will probably be more demanding because the graphics are considerably better.

You don't need a beta key, it is an open beta, you can just download it through origin.

I selected the My Games tab within Origin to see the open Beta but to bad it's not available here(PAK) :(

I'm not at home right now so can't help you much, but it should be downloadable in Origin. Search Crysis 3 or soemthing, when I logged in there was a Crysis 3 beta tab at the top

The more I play this the more I actually like it, as opposed to Crysis 2 MP where the more I played (which only totaled about a few hours) the more I hated it. The graphics are pretty awesome. I'm getting about 40-55 fps on Very High with SMAA 2x. There is no performance hit difference between medium SMAA and Low (1x) or FXAA, so SMAA medium seems best. I get drops in the 30s during firefights, but all in all its pretty smooth. Could probably lower some settings to get closer to 30fps, but its a beta so I'll just enjoy the eye candy :) Hopefully they optimize it some more before release. Kinda scared to see how SP will run on my GTX 670...although I wouldn't be too upset if I can't max it as I appreciate Crytek trying to push the envelope graphically.

I lowered them just to play it well. There is a lot of instability at higher frames where stuff drops constantly and it's stuttery. But it IS pretty

I'm dissapoint with the beta.

I have a i5 2500K at 3.3 Ghz, 16 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz and a GTX 690; maxed, at 2560 x 1440 in my 27" Dell U2711 display Battlefield 3 usually runs around 75 fps (FXAA, X16 AF). Crysis 3 beta in Very High, with all options maxed at the same resolution and using either FXAA, SMAA X2, MSAA X2 or the other one I barely dent above 30 fps-more like 26-29 fps in combat-. Seems like the game even't recognize the SLI, and runs 45 fps under the BF3 performance, despite having much lower scale and environment destruction. Yes, has higher detail in weapons and more variety in textures, but nothing to fall in awe, and the performance is craptacular.

The second concern is the mouse lag/delay in imputs, narrowed FOV and gigantic HUD. Some of those problems can be fixed with a customized .cfg, but talks leagues about a game to not be released with those problems fixed, even in a b eta/mp demo.

At the Crysis 1 mp beta and single player demo release I was very impressed by the visuals and the performance in those huge levels; now, with the Crysis 3 beta the only aspect I found inpressive was the music. Otherwise the beta is prety much a confirmation of Crysis 3 being not much more than Crysis 2.2, a standalone expansion. I'll try Planetside 2 this evening, but on paper doesn't look good for Crysis 3 at all.

there is an FOV slider that goes up to like 80 i think and makes it s lot better that the default 55. Also its multiayer beta so i wouldnt judge it too soon, crysis 2s beta ran crap too. And the laggy stuff is always in crysis mp, and yeah its annoying. Its incredibly delayed at times and hard to control your shots. Crysis isnt designed for multiplayer anyway so if you want it for mp alone then i would avoid it. Planetside 2 csn be laggy too so be warned

Yes, in Options under "Game" there is a FOV setting. I always play with FOV 70 in FPS games...it makes a huge difference in this game. Crysis 2 had default god awful 55 FOV as well, and you could only change it with console commands, so I'm very happy they included it in the options menu.

Also I don't understand why your performance is that bad. I have an i5-2500K at stock 3.3 ghz, 8GB DDR3 and a GTX 670 2GB and I'm pulling 45-55 fps on Very High with SMAA medium, with drops to like 35-40 in firefights. I'm guessing its the resolution you are playing at (I'm at 1920x1080). Firstly its a beta so its most likely not optimized, and second you shouldn't be too upset if you can't max the game at your res with high amounts of AA. Crytek said they intend for Crysis 3 to be a benchmark game much like Crysis 1, where current hardware won't be able to max it completely and it will take at least a few years for that to happen. If that's the case, can't be angry. I mean hell, my GTX 670 only pulls 60ish fps now in Crysis 1, and its almost 6 years later!

I play the highest FOV in I can as far as 90-95.

And he has a 690 which is basically SLI in one card and there was no SLI fix for a while to make it run well, so he was basically running one car rather than the full power of the 2 he has. I think. Need correction on that

I know its just a beta but 30FPS or 60FPS the game feels the same... In a bad way. I set everything on medium with SMAA 2X and get around 80-90FPS but if it feels like running it at 30-40FPS. After a while I just feel sick.

Mouse acceleration has a lot to do with it. It makes the movement feel horrible and laggy

I think the slider for the FOV is for the vertical wide, not for the horizontal field of vision (which must be at least 90º even if games as Skyrim keep using lesser wide due performnce in consoles).

Some people told me that maybe the low performance can be due the beta isn't running my 690 as an SLI card but as a single GPU, which could be solved through the latest Nvidia drivers. I must try that.

Yeah SLI didn't work at first but Mitu123 posted a link to where you can fix it

I was getting great performance with the new beta driver and SLI update. With shaders and texture resolution at High, motion blur at Medium, everything else Very High, and FXAA enabled, I was getting 45-70 FPS depending on where I was and the action on-screen. The only problem I encountered was the occasional hitch and slow-down during Hunter mode. For some reason, whenever there was a hunter nearby, the whole game would stop and stutter until I or the hunter was dead; and, whenever I would load as a hunter, the game would drop below 30 FPS for a few seconds before resuming smooth FPS. Has anyone else had the odd hitching in Hunter mode?

It's a lot more fun than I thought it would be. If anything it's just great to look at

Also I am getting fine performance now, don't know why some are complaining. Totally maxed out I was getting in the 50s most of the time

Everything maxed out Very High, 4xMSAA, I get an average of 30fps lol. OC'ed, I barely see a difference of maybe 5 fps. Crysis 3 does look noticeably better than Crysis 2, but not by much. Or, I should say, nothing spectacular. To be fair, this is the multiplayer portion so I'll wait until I get my hands on the full-game.

I'm really OCD about game performance so I might not buy Crysis 3 until I buy a GTX 770/780 (Titan).

Note: I have never played Crysis 2 with all the bells and whistles like the texture pack. Just vanilla C2.

Have you tried adjusting the anti-aliasing setting? MSAA is very demanding.

That was just a test at max settings with at least 4xMSAA. I wanted to see how demanding it was compared to Crysis 2 on max.

The game is working fine here with Windows 8 64-bit Pro. Do you get an error message? Edit: Crysis 3 does support Windows 8. The official PC specifications have Windows 8 listed alongside Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Working great here on Windows 8 64bit. I know Crysis 3 only supports DX11 graphic cards, but heard nothing about Crytek not supporting Windows 8.

Played a little... didn't like it. I think I'm a Single player guy. But overall, graphics still have some kind of console feel to it... and maps doesn't feel alive nor original... I think the main problem is the artistic design... it looks and feel like any other shooter out there. Hope the single player proves me wrong, but after the god-awful Crysis 2, I have my doubts. (I say Crysis 2 was awful because it's a sequel to Crysis. If it was an entire different game, it would be good.)

Slightly better. Just barely noticeable. If anything Crysis 3 looks a bit sharper. Nothing ground-breaking. But like I said, this is just the MP.  I'd imagine if I played Crysis 2 with all the bells and whistles, I'd be less impressed.  I'm just hoping C3 will be at least fun gameplay wise.  That's more important.

Damn it, noo! The Crysis 3 beta REQUIRES a Direct X 11 graphics card in order to run. What a load of BS! There's hardly any difference in between DX 10 and 11 visuals. It. Well, looks like my nVIDIA GTX 260 is done for.

Dx11 is a lot more than just a graphical change. And it's about time some games ditched Dx9 completely and forced people forward a bit. Hopefully more devs ditch Dx9

Well, not until next gen consoles are fully established. DX9 right now is still very much alive.. and as we've seen hardly makes a difference in some games like Far Cry 3. As long as the HD twins, and even the Wii U are still out, we can expect DX9 to still be around for a while. And what about indie developers? There are so many variables in play.

Oh, that's gotta be the reason why then. I'm using a 280GTX. Oh well I guess I'll have to pass on crysis 3 then :(
