[QUOTE="jimkabrhel"]Nice to know I'm not the only other old fart around here. 35, btw. I figured to be a bit older than this. Welcome to the OFC where we suffer from OFD.34. I remember the Atari 2600 and the TI99/A. I remember the original Thundercats. I remember the Soviet Union. I remember when the internet was mostly text.
I remember the Cosby show and watching Star Trek: TNG every Saturday night.

Will be 36 later this year. In my lifetime I've seen NASA successfull launche the Space Shuttle program, successfully explode two Shuttles, end the Space Shuttle program, and successfully hitchhike a ride with the Russians. I've also seen NASA launch orbital telescopes that have given of a wealth of cool images and information about space. I cut my teeth on an Magnavox Odyssey 2, then graduated to an Atari 2600, then NES, Super NES, and then all three generations of Playstation so far. I remember my parents having an 8-Track deck in the car and a big stereo centered around a turntable. Growing up Reagan seemed hell bent on escalating the Cold War into an actual war. The idea of a black president was one of those "not in my lifetime" kind of things. Cable television still wasn't terrible widespread and satellite television meant having one of these in your yard.
I'm 34. When I was a kid, I was heavily into cartoons like Transformers (the original, not the crap we have now), GoBots, Mask, Thundercats, G.I. Joe, etc... I was a Rams fan. I also enjoyed Married... With Children, Sliders, and X-Files. My favorite player at the time was Magic Johnson.
For tech, my first computer had a menu, Windows 3.1 and DOS. I beat the original Duke Nukem so many times on that thing... I still remember the floppies. Atari was my first console. I even owned an original model Gameboy. I still see those every once in awhile. :D

I've always been one of the oldest in the union.
As for OT? I probably wouldn't be too far off from that as well, unless someone surprises me >_>...
But you're the coolest.
Next month I'll be 22. I remember life being so much simpler before moving out and going to college.
17, and though I am young, I feel so much has changed in that short amount of time.
One thing I remember was summer mornings, getting up and going to the around the corner candy store or riding bikes and skateboards and going on adventures all day long till you were ready to drop. Nowa days when Im going to school or work, I never see kids out, ever, kind of depressing.
I also remember when Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen first introduced wireless trading adaptors for the gameboy, and it seemed like the most amazing thing.
I'm 33.
Been around long enough to remember the cold war, the challenger explosion, the LA riots, gulf war 1, and to have owned a record player and cassette singles. Â
