I'm sick of the Emo/Scene hate

Let's take the scene kids out of the music genre....very fewin this thread seems to know what emo is as a music genre (including the TC). K?LJS9502_basic

There are so many misconceptions perpetuatedabout the "Emo" genre I am just tired of it....>_>

scene kids act like they are better than you and that they know everything most of the time. when they dont then idc they are scene. Emo on the other hand...Its fine to enjoy some emo music occasiionally. I don't but who cares if someone else does.

but most of the listeners are young, when the frontal lobe is being all crazy with change. the frontal lobe change is why teenagers get so angry, steal things, cut themselves and get suicidal or whatnot. they get more emotional because the inner (primitive part of their brain) takes more control than an adult or even a child. So these more emotional teens like more emotional music thus so many young emo kids. since the thing causing them to be so emo is the same thing that causes behavior such as suicide, self mutilation,feelings such as alientaion etc the music is assocciated with the behavior.

So basically people associate the music with typical adolecent behavior. I know when I was 14 I listened to emo, but now hat I'm 18 I've grown out of it. meanwhile my 22 year old sister still enjoys it occasionally.

So I'm really confused....

The skinny kids who wine about their lives/overdose and cut themselves, we call them emo here and they call themselves emo. What do you guys call them? I'd never even heard the term scene before :?

You know, making this thread, you gave everyone here more reason to hate the Scene fad.

And you obviously don't know what emo is. I'd like to see you name ONE emo band. And having heard about them doesn't count, you have to actually listen to them.

By the way, even if the girls aren't cutting themselves, holding the scissors up to their tongue just to look cool is just as stupid. :|

And I agree with Pickglove....emo is not the emo that we know nowadays. Hike back to the 80s and you'll know what it was. The word is misused alot these days

Anyways. I don't judge someone based on a stupid label but I think it's the person's fault if they're being accused of cutting themselves... If you purposely dress and try to "fit in" by looking like an emo, then yeah, it's your own fault. Unless you didn't know emo is also a label refering to someone who cuts themselves. >_>

Yeah, I'm surprised there's still people that like to argue about this... whatever, I guess I can't change anyones opinion on this but I could prove to most of them that the things they say about 'Emo' and 'scene' kids are usually false.

I am really ****** sick of the hate for no reason also. You have put together a good thread, it has caught my interest.
