He does not mean it like this. What he means is that humans by nature kind of ignore the fact of death and act as if they will live forever. When you grow old and feel your days are counted, you will see just how much this world worth, given of course that you believe or at least have traces of belief in God and afterlife...etc

Akhi, I know how you feel. I said the same thing to myself when I finally left Islam. No one understands how hard it was initially to leave my family's religion. But I no longer regret my decision for many reasons.

you're doing more bad then good, and you're really portraying Muslims in general quite negatively, which is (I think) the opposite of your intentions. You should start being kind to others if you want to portray your religion in a better light.
