You can have gay friends that you like and still be against gay marriage. It's possible.

gatorteen

I'm not denying that, even if it's merely anecdotal evidence. You would, however, still be discriminating.

That was my point the whole time. Saying that the Chick-fli-A corporation doesn't like gay people isn't a fair statement.

No it's quite fair. They donate money to groups that discriminate, hence they're advocating for discrimination.

Did people forget that we live in a democracy and not a theocracy? Not just that but its the 21st century and I would figure that humanity was over with such a primitive phase.

Being against gay marriage doesn't mean you don't like gay people.

whipassmt

We've been over this. It's a ridiculous statement. It's like saying, "hey I like black people, I just don't want them marrying white women!". It's so ****ing stupid that it's mind boggling. You cannot claim to be in favor of equal rights for gay people while at the same time oppose them marrying. Marriage is a fundamental right.

"No one can make a claim to the right to a nuptial ceremony,". Marriage is not a fundamental right for all circumstances.

Among other things people need to be prepared for marriage.

You realize you're quoting the freaking Pope right? Since when does his opinion dictate US laws and rights?

I generally don't boycott businesses due to their political donations. My actions won't change their decision, and it's too much of a hassle.

coolbeans90

It's not too much of a hassle for me, since I don't eat there anyway.

Once again: "They donate large sums of money to vehemently anti-gay groups and uphold the biblical view of gays being abominations in the sight of God that belong in Hell. But don't say they hate gays, cuz that's just MEAN."

The only Chick-fil-A near me is on a remote college campus, so the franchise is pretty much inaccessible to me.

But I eat only grilled chicken, and I doubt Chick-fil-A's griilled chicken strips can top the ones at Jack-in-the-Box anyway.

Does Jack look as though he could possibly be guilty of hate or discrimination?

Yeah, but he doesn't discriminate when he poisons children.

In fact, he poisons children pretty much indiscriminately. :P

Why can't you go on the college campus to the Chick-Fil-A? How remote is it? How long of a drive is it? Their grilled chicken sandwich is great and I like it as much as the regular chicken sandwich.

[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]

I'm not allowed there if this is the case...

Cataclism

You're gay???

Well, I guess that explains why you don't find any female celebrities attractive. But doesn't explain your apparently godly girlfriend......

There's always another fast food restaurant to make up for it.

Sure, they have the right to hold and express whatever views they wish. They have the right to support whatever groups they wish. I, however, won't be giving them my business.
