There are no "good deals" for the Wii right now, as it's currently in the mad-scramble stage......they are still freaking impossible to find....I'm so glad I lucked out and got one two days after launch when toysrus just happened to have a shipment come at a weird time, 5 minutes before I called looking for one, and they hadn't started doing the every sunday thing yet.......
I feel bad for the people who are still unable to get a Wii from local stores, there've been 2 Wii's sitting in the Wal-Mart here (in Newfoundland, guess that's why) for the last 2 weeks now, untouched. I suppose you could try any nearby, smaller populated towns (provided, there are any) around where you live and check out the stores there (that's how my brother managed to snag 2 PS3's). I only live a relatively small town, so I guess I'm lucky in that respect. Good luck finding one for your birthday.
Edit- Forgot to mention, I also agree with what some others have said, I'd recommend checking nearby stores before relying on eBay for getting a Wii.
I been searching for a Wii since launch, calling every other day or so, and not once have I ever called and gotten a "Yes, we have them in stock" answer. It's so frustrating.
